Seriously though, She has opinions that may be different than yours, and probably comes from a perspective different than yours. And you may not like her as I dislike many of the people you probably deem acceptable. But not qualified? Think not.
Briahna Gray was the Senior Politics Editor at The Intercept. She is also an opinion columnist with a focus on progressive political messaging, as well as issues relating to identity and culture. Her work has appeared in The Guardian, New York Magazine, Rolling Stone, Current Affairs, and The Week, among others. Her insights regarding the weaponization of identity in the contemporary political sphere can be found in the Fusion documentary Trumpland: Kill All Normies, as well as a variety of podcasts and online programs, including NPR, TYT, and The Real News.
Prior to joining The Intercept, she practiced law at a boutique litigation firm in New York City and was contributing editor to Current Affairs Magazine. She is also the co-host of the podcast SWOTI (Someones Wrong on the Internet), on which she applies a leftist lens to subjects relating to both politics and pop culture. She received a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School in 2011, and a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard College in 2007.

(32,640 posts)It must have really hit a nerve to have triggered a rant misrepresenting a valid observation as being based in mysogyny and racism.
I take it from your post that if it's an african american who is trashing another african american, it's OK, and it can't be called trashing? And anyone who points out that calls it trashing, is racist and if the person doing the trashing is a woman, a misogynist as well?

(4,915 posts)She is qualified. Which is my opinion.
As a white woman I wouldnt dare to speak for a black woman but I think she is allowed her opinion as you are. There are no deities in my life that cant be praised and not praised. There is no political person who is not able to be challenged. Even someone widely admired. As a black woman, she had her opinion. It may not be mine or yours. But its valid if its hers.
You struck no chord and if what I said is a rant, you need to take a pill and relax. I said nothing about racism or misogyny. I said I think she is qualified.

(32,640 posts)And you implied some things that were utterly off base. I never said she was unqualified, but the rant certainly was certainly accusing me of it and 'refuting' that non-existent "opinon." Is that clearer?
Actually, you brought race into the conversation, and used it to scold me. Being disingenuous doesn't change that.
Your post is self-evident.

(32,640 posts)or gender and not by their age. I think we have got to try to move us toward a nondiscriminatory society that looks at people based on their abilities, based on what they stand for."
Because apparently being happy that there is a racial, age and gender diverse field of qualified people running might indicate 'discrimination' against straight white older men.
Makes total sense then, to list all the women and POC that the candidate has decided to hire this time around in a press release.
Maybe he recently discovered a hitherto hidden population of qualified women and POC. Or maybe Hillary pulled him way to the left concerning the advantage of having a diverse staff.
Or maybe he read this:
'If you don't have any people of color on your national team ... you're going to be hamstrung,' says one veteran Democratic operative.

For a future to believe in, learn from the past and present. Senator Sanders and his friends do not have you in mind. Demand more than easy platitudes about economic inequality. Demand a candidate who will treat the women and men who sacrifice months and years of their lives with some respect. Demand a candidate who has time to appoint leaders with substantial grassroots experience and the know-how to plan a wage grid or schedule flights. Senator Sanders is not that candidate.
