Joe Biden, Bleeding Cash, Spent Nearly $1 Million on Private Jets

Joe Biden’s presidential campaign is bleeding cash. And a big reason why appears to be an antiquated, higher-end approach to electoral politics that the former vice president has adopted.

Biden’s team spent more than $923,000 on private jets during the third quarter of 2019, according to recently filed Federal Election Commission data. The expenses, all made to the company EJCR, LLC Dba Advanced Aviation Team, represented a major chunk of change—accounting for roughly one out of every 16 dollars the campaign raised.

It’s not uncommon for candidates to lean on private jets as they crisscross the country in an effort to keep a schedule packed with speeches, rallies, and debates. But a review of Biden’s expenditures suggest that a good deal of what he’s spending money on currently involve efforts to simply raise more money.

The former vice president spent more than $230,000 on “fundraising consultants” during Q3; nearly $500,000 on direct mail; and major chunks of change on high-end hotels in cities that serve as donor hubs but aren’t centrally located in early-voting states. During the third quarter period, the Biden campaign spent more than $20,000 at the Carlyle Hotel in New York City; more than $14,000 at the Coronado Island Marriott in San Diego; more than $4,400 at the Hotel Jerome Auberge in Aspen; more than $10,500 at the W Hotel in Los Angeles, and more than $3,000 at the Sun Valley Resort in Sun Valley, Idaho.

From what I could tell from the debate, he seems to have new energy from the stent that was put in to increase blood flow to his heart. But, he should disclose his doctors' findings as to his present condition. That's only right and fair to the voters.

None of the candidates display movement toward the cleanest, minimally carbon emission producing transportation during elections. Since travel is necessary, why not use our mass transit options? They can fly first class for security. I am not familiar with trains, but I would think there would be a structure available to accommodate travelers who require extras security. I know, in my area, they used to use Greyhound to transport inmates and there were security officers with them.
I would really like to see our candidates set an example for low carbon producing lifestyles even in the most unusual conditions. I would especially be interested to see this from Biden who proudly rode the train between DC and Delaware when he was a senator.

...but the network outside the NE Corridor is too sparse, too infrequent and takes too long to go coast to coast. I'm willing to bet even Jay Inslee flew to debates and events. Unless you want a campaign that's only played out on TV, plane travel is essential.

that they could figure out ways to do it. It's a matter of will and commitment to addressing climate change. No policy leaders have ever shown enough of it and this is just one example of how it is on full display in the ways campaigns are orchestrated. That we aren't demanding it is another reveal of the lack of citizen commitment.

I am not a fan, at all, of flying. I live near to a city of about half a million. In 2012 and 2016 I wanted to go from Raleigh to Denver. The train would have taken 36 hours, no I am not kidding. Even if I drove to DC it still would have taken well over 24.
