Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumIt's a little disheartening that here at DU....
....Tulsi Gabbard is currently polling ahead of Klobuchar, Booker and Castro.
Yes, I know nominally she is a Democrat by affiliation and she has a right to be on that poll...but still, come on.

(9,963 posts)a Russian plant, trying to get support to run as a 3rd party spoiler in certain important states. This is the same play they used with Jill Stein, she also was a Russian plant. I would be looking very carefully at where her funding is really coming from. Do not fall for this play another time people, it is what got you Trump.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
Gabbard isn't necessarily in cahoots with the Russians. She doesn't have to be. As long as the Russians are supporting her they will be disrupting our election.

(7,447 posts)some folks were mad about the Biden attacks so cheered her on when she went after Harris.
That's some of it. Some of it are the folks who are single issue war in the middle east voters who only care about getting all troops out everywhere and think she's the leader on that somehow. The rest rhyme with bot.
The other three simply have not for various reasons some fair, some not, caught on with a whole lot of people. So it doesn't take much to pass them.

(711 posts)this accusation is not to shutdown conversation, but to examine people's motives and connections. If the republican party had been seriously engaged in examining their candidates motives and connections, we wouldn't be stuck with a president who owes his election to a foreign government. We would not be good citizens if, knowing how Putin tampered with the last election, we didn't question our own candidates.

(6,346 posts)Is that one is not free to oppose or question US foreign policy or else that will be called being a Russian "asset." Assets are either witting or unwitting, so there is no requirement of any communication with Russians, it just simply means opposition to US policy. People ought to be free to think and say what they believe whether it is isolationism or intervention.

I can think of some things that are even funnier.
Like when someone gets caught posting repulsively homophobic things and claims they were relying on "incorrect information"
That they were merely "misinformed".. That they didn't know the truth-- as if this information was not available in the mid-2000s
Things like that. I mean, that's not particularly funny in itself of course. The funny part is them thinking anyone will buy it.

Any candidate that bashes Hillary, parrots the Putin crib notes about Syria, and has Russian Twitter bots boosting her social media creds has to be suspect.

Tulsi Gabbard is about as likely to win the nomination as hogs are likely to fly out of Iowa under their own power and land at Dulles.
Why the drama? The time spent on this is better spent in numerous ways that are more productive.
Support Gabbard or let every thread about her sink. The outcome will be the same.
