I would like to ask a question here

As a democratic voter from New Hampshire whether or not it is deserved, my vote in the primary is given importance. My dream ticket would be Elizabeth Warren with Pete Buttigieg as VP. With the foregoing as a given which would be the more strategic move-voting Warren hoping to swamp Sanders or Buttigieg to add impetus there? How would you vote in my position?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

2. Vote for the person you want to get the nomination.

Voters have no control over who is chosen as the running mate, so voting for Buttigieg because you want him in the VP position wouldn't have any effect on whether he gets it. If Warren is the nominee she might choose someone else; there are a lot of good people to choose from. If you want to swamp Sanders so Warren gets the nomination, vote for Warren. If you want Buttigieg to get the nomination, vote for him.

My thinking is Warren is most likely to take it all. I think though no one else comes as close to filling in all the boxes as Buttigieg as VP. It covers the age question, the left/centrist thing and though they are both "white" Buttigieg nails down the LBGTQ electorate....we miss black and Hispanic but we actually did black once and proved it is not a disqualifier and brings representation to the 50+% of women and 10% or men who are say, gender different. And those qualifications alone should appeal to a majority of Americans who are not already party committed. Am I wrong?

If you have time to volunteer for Buttigieg, you would be able to make the biggest difference in helping him be more competitive as he has the most room to grow. He probable won't ever overtake the top contenders there, but a strong showing, could set him up to stay in the contest and make him an attractive VP pick

Keep it simple and vote for the candidate you like best. They will choose the VP they think will do the most good. We can't outguess them on that score. If we respect them we will respect their choice for VP. Don't worry, no Democratic nominee will pull a McCain and choose a Palin.

My plan is that before the primary, I will study the polls for which candidate does best against Trump in the key swing states and vote for that candidate. Nothing - nothing - is more important than defeating Trump.

You have exactly one vote more for the top of the ticket than you do for the running mate. Buttigieg is solidly in the tier of candidates currently running behind Biden, Sanders and Warren, and I doubt any of those three would tap any of the others in that group as a running mate. So a vote for Mayor Pete probably has virtually no effect on his VP chances relative to the other candidates running. He's made a mark on the national scene and whoever gets the nomination will make a calculation we can't really predict as to who would be the best choice of running mate.
