Some thoughts on "The Shortest Way Home" by Pete Buttigieg, which I just finished reading.

It is without question very well written. When I was reading about his first run for mayor, he conveys the doubts he had over the eventual outcome. Would he win? I really felt the tension......and then I remembered! When you find yourself inside the writer's mind, you know he's really got something.

This sentence stood out to me: "..embracing the permanence of change is the only thing that can liberate us to move forward."

This is central to his attitude towards government. It's a core belief and I think an important one. And you can't go back. I really find these ideas refreshing.

I'm looking forward to how he does in the debates. If he does well there, then maybe there's no stopping him. Time will tell.

One thing is certain: He has raised his profile enormously and having done that, will be eventually able to seek and win higher office.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I haven't seen him stumble at all. He might pause to think, but that's it.

He is SO intelligent!

I have no doubt he will do very well.

I watched a bunch of videos of him on Youtube - going back years.

He can handle himself. He has a very nice way of articulating his points without offending.
Like Obama, he has really thought his positions through.

He is going to be a contender.
