I am GLAD we have two real billionaires running for our Democratic Party candidate! Here's why.

They have the means to hammer the message that our current holder of the office is a cheat and a fraud. Over and over they hammer this message because they have the money and can outspend the fraud in the White House, whom we all detest.

They have paid for a loud megaphone to blast the repukes out of the water, publicity wise. And I suspect (and fervently hope) that "ok, so I may not become president myself, but I can get a message out to tell the American people what this guy really is."

I may be proven wrong, that all they are doing is massaging their egos. Well, that's fine, as long as they pay those bills, ring them bells, and let as many Americans as possible know the truth about Trump and his minions.

Rant over.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

1. I, too, am happy for them to blast the message all over the place, but...

... I don't want to see that the nomination can be bought. At least Steyer has been building his mailing list for years. I won't watch a Bloomberg ad. But I'm glad to think some Repubs are.

I don't consider this a negative attack ad, more of a public service.

4. Agreed. I don't really have a problem with them in the race, even Bloomberg.

Not that I support him or his run - I don't - but because I think regardless of how his run in the primary turns out, he's going to dump millions into supporting Democrats and Democratic causes and will run umpteen anti-Trump ads, which will all help our eventual candidate and down-ticket races nationwide.

Would I prefer that Bloomberg do it anyway, without running for president? Yes, but I'll also take whatever help we can get.

If they focus on attacking Trump, then you may be right.

If they focus on attacking other candidates then you are wrong, they want to be president.

If they focus on attacking Warren, they fear for their person futures.

8. So far they are doing your #1. We'll see, but I don't think they are so foolish as to attack Warren.

Or other candidates. They just think they have the money and the smarts to be a better president than Trump. Not a very high bar but there we have it...

I'm really tired of billionaires trying to buy an elected office, but hey, if they want to throw their money at mainstream advertising, that works for me. Steyer's ads are all over the place and though I'm not crazy about him as a candidate, he's getting the message out. I guess that's what we need right now - carpet bomb the airways with the truth!

9. Good points, and despite the gloom and doom of either of them "buying" the election, unless....

....they actually PAY voters to vote for them they're not buying the election. All a candidate can do is buy ad time, but if the message in those ads doesn't appeal to the voters they won't vote for them.

10. My hope is that they hear the message and vote for Warren or Klobuchar.

Warren has the same message, essentially, as these billionaires but if Klobuchar can carry the ball for us in the swing states, I'm all for her.
