Joe Biden Was Right To Call Man Who Pushed Ukraine Conspiracy A Damn Liar

From the article:

There is a more significant point in Biden’s confrontation with a voter who pushed the Ukraine conspiracy, and that is that Joe Biden won’t allow lies to stand.
The 83-year-old voter accused Biden of setting up his son to work in a gas company in Ukraine and selling access to the presidency just like Trump.
Neither of these allegations was true, and Biden wasn’t going to stand there and make nice or offer some talking point answer to obvious lies. Sure, Biden got testy, but only after the voter also challenged his fitness for the presidency.

He should say 'no one credible is saying it' or 'no one who has reviewed the facts is saying it'.

Otherwise, this was a perfect response. It's time to push back.

I'm sure later he thought of what he should have said, pretty much like we all do. Being it was not a scripted retort, it wasn't going to be perfect, but he got his point across and received a lot of coverage because of it. Now if there was any doubt whether Joe is tough enough to take on a bully like Trump, those doubts have been addressed.

I agree, Democrats have to push back. I love that both Pelosi and Biden pushed back on the same day!

But his response is the correct one. If someone in the GOP lies, they should expect to be called out on the lie. There should be no safe spaces for these GOP liars.

I don't envy *anyone* that task. It's going to be a bit like emptying septic trucks.

My rugrats are well into their thirties, but I would go to the mat for any of them in a heartbeat. That's what parents do. The man came in reciting all the faux talking points about his son and he wasn't having it. I don't blame him. Sometimes it seems like anytime a member of the Democratic party shows any kind of fire in his belly, there are some both here and in the media who start reaching for their pearls.

I can't determine if the man was being deceitful or if he was just stupid.

Now, a candidate losing their cool and lambasting a heckler usually isn't a good look, but it seems to work for Donald Trump so who the fuck knows. Personally, I don't care... but I'm concerned that he doesn't look tough enough to back up the attitude and that will be perceived as insincere.

Democrats keep saying that they need to take the fight to Trump in 2020, which is true, but they also need a candidate will go toe to toe with Trump and not be placed on the defensive by lies. The mainstream media handwringing and fainting over this clip are overblown.

Thank you for this, guillaumeb..

Biden told the truth by confronting the lie. And pretending that lies are alternate truths reduces language and fact to nonsense.
