(22,875 posts)or the Saudis, the North Koreans.. he is hitting them up for money so he can have his own media outlet to destroy America with. Media moguls (owning the 4th estate that we rely on) should not run for office.. not a good look

(12,712 posts)Well, unless you are in the club. You most likely are not.
I for one do not want a future of immortal, cyborg trillionaires hunting the rest of us for sport.
Oh, but the fox knows the hen house well and will certainly give it the best attention and care.

(31,261 posts)If his reporters cover everyone freely, anything they write will be questioned. He had to sideline them from writing about 2020 election and policy related items. Maybe he will rethink it and retreat from an outright ban, maybe one way to do that is to mandate that each reporter disclose that they write for Bloomberg News as part of their report or opinion.
As things are in this country, he has largely left some talented people to write about flower shows, dog shows and the weather. A lot of our daily lives now is about 2020 politics, whether we want that or not.

(12,165 posts)Any critical coverage of the other dem candidates by media employed by Bloomberg would be tainted as biased.
Now, I dont believe that the reporters employed at Bloombergs outlets would be biased. They are pros and some of the best in the biz. But there could be an appearance of bias when none is really there.

(31,261 posts)A byline with his media company in it grants immediate credibility. Add to that his reporters and opinion writers are some of the best in the business. All that can be subtlety twisted to Bloomberg's advantage, OR, used by opponents to claim that negative coverage of them or their proposals is biased to favor their boss. One way or the other Bloomberg can't win on this one.
