Huff Post Arrticle: The Disrespect Of Floating Stacey Abrams As Joe Biden's Running Mate

What do you guys think? I'm on the fence with the article's conclusions.

“We understand that black women within the Democratic Party have significant influence,” Shropshire said. But, she added, Biden’s team should be wary of toying with Abrams’ future in the press before she makes her own decision, just like they should be wary of assuming “black women’s vote can be co-opted in some way.”

“In making such an assertion, you’re also taking for granted the self-determination of black women,” Shropshire said, “and black women within the Democratic Party.”

“It says a lot about her leadership and the passion that she has tapped into across the country,” said Kimberly Peeler-Allen, the co-founder of Higher Heights, an organization dedicated to getting black women involved in politics.

But, she added, “it is interesting that before she has even decided what she is doing, he has decided what he wants her to do.”

For that reason, Democratic strategists and black organizers expressed skepticism about why a rising star like Abrams would want to hitch her wagon to Biden so early, even if he currently leads in national polls. Yvette Simpson, the chief executive of Democracy for America, a progressive political action committee that supported Abrams for governor before she even entered the Georgia race, said Biden seems to have more to gain at this stage.

“I can see the benefit of Joe Biden selecting a Stacey Abrams,” Simpson said. “What I can’t quite figure out at this stage is what the benefit is to Stacey Abrams.”

The author looks like a frat-kid who has no business speaking for POC.

It's clear what benefit Biden gets out of it ... but what does Abrams get?

Abrams could conceivably be the running mate choice of a number of Democratic candidates. If she attaches herself to Biden now, she would be closing the door to being asked by any other candidate when Biden doesn't get the nomination. It's my belief that no old, white man will get the Democratic nomination this time around.

met with several other candidates. She has a significant story of voter suppression that will be or could be affecting other elections. It’s a serious matter.

It says above that she will meet with any declared or potential candidates who ask. It’s pretty much that simple.

he could erase the stains of his behavior with regard to Anita Hill if he made this extremely cynical move. Having lived in PA within a couple miles of Delaware and watched Biden’s career for decades, I do not subscribe to the Nice Guy theory of Joe Biden.

Both Biden and Abrams teams have stated this wasn't discussed at the lunch. She has met with about six other candidates as well, are they all recruiting her for VP? These are political operatives manufacturing outrage to hurt Biden and benefit their prefered candidate.

Would most people really consider her qualified for VP or President is a better question. I predict she will attempt a GA Senate run in 2020.
