Democratic Primaries

There was a meeting of the State District Executive Committee for the Texas Democratic Party this weekend. Here is some interesting news https://juanitajean.com/texas-stuff-2/
I have news. Yesterday at the SDEC meeting in Plano, Michael Bloomberg came to speak and committed to spending $100 million in Texas if he is the nominee. To my mind, if his goal is to beat Donald Trump, he should commit to spend $100 million in Texas even if hes not the nominee.
Now, the good news: Texas Democrats, for the first time in a long damn time, have someone running in every congressional seat. We even have people running against incumbents, which is fine with me.
Ill be updating this all day tomorrow.

(94,474 posts)As for wit and charm, that's a subjective judgement, but I would say most of the Presidential candidates don't meet that threshold.

(5,554 posts)Gun control could be anything from better background checks (very possible) to a total ban on firearms (impossible with our current politics and society).
Same for progressive taxation. Undoing the Trump cuts for the rich is very doable, a mild wealth tax on the ultra rich is harder but might be possible, and something like confiscation of all assets over $1 billion isn't viable.

This is utterly shameless.
And gee I wonder why he picked Texas for this kind of stunt.
