Bloomberg misfires on impeachment aftermath

I just saw a clip on MSNBC where Bloomberg says he’s worried that impeaching tRump might help tRump get reelected.

Strange to hear from a candidate whose TV ads tout a politician who takes on the tough issues and wins the battles against the big corporations, the NRA etc. In other words, a guy who does the hard things.

So what is it, Mike?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

over and over at every turn just might turn off voters too and lead to a Dem victory. No one knows as we've never had an impeached president running for re-election.

Bloomberg should be playing up the negative fact that is, trump is impeached, instead of saying it helps trump.

IMO it'll hurt him with more voters than it helps him.

He said he's worried that it might help Trump. They're not the same thing.

There was always a risk that impeachment and acquittal would help Trump and/or increase GOP turnout. We understood that going in. Right now, no one can say with any certainty what impact it will have. We should probably all be worried that it might help Trump and plan accordingly.

that impeachment can help him. We have an obvious advantage with trump being impeached and all our candidates should run with the fact that he is being held to account for asking foreign countries to meddle in our election.

It's a no-brainer and if a candidate doesn't grasp that, she/he doesn't need to be running.

In one instance you are highlighting a battle. The other you are highlighting public perception.

I don't know why the pro's and con's of impeaching Trump are so offensive to some. It's an extremely important discussion to have in order to develop messaging. It's not a way to hedge from doing the right thing, on its own.
