Joe BidenCongratulations to our presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden!

The debate that didn't matter. Maybe its time to start voting!

https://www.yahoo.com/news/debate-didnt-matter-045136877.html

Kind of a cute take on the December debate.

Snip//

Biden will stay in the lead. Warren will continue her slow fade. Bernie Sanders will keep consolidating his position as the great left-populist alternative to the frontrunner. Buttigieg will settle in as the fallback option for centrists if Biden has a complete meltdown. Klobuchar will still fail to light anyone's fire. Yang will remain the true wild card. And Steyer will continue to be the guy who bought himself onto the debate stage. (Perhaps Michael Bloomberg will eventually figure out a way to do the same.)

Another debate in the can. Maybe it's time to finally start voting.

At least the next debate will focus on the first state to have a real vote...
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

1. The debates right now are mainly to decide who you don't want

Itís main purpose is to cull the field.
Once itís down to just a few the real debates start.

2. I think Bernie should drop out

He has ZERO chance of winning the nomination and being divisive with his non-diverse base serves no purpose.

He should go back to Vermont and make sure Vermont has a single payer system which it failed to do over and over.

4. Bernie should go back to Vermont and work on the issue of higher education in his state.

21. You posted an article in the Arizona forum where GOP is increasing in-state tuition

I prefer Bernie Sanders address this from the federal level. It shows he understands the problem same with Elizabeth Warren.

23. Yes I did post that thread in the Arizona Group.

The price of tuition should take into consideration the actual cost of providing that education. The gap between the tuition price and the actual cost is an expense carried by taxpayers which means that people that did not get the opportunity to attend college are subsidizing the education for those that do attend college. In a sense, that is redistributive economics which hurts the poor and less educated. Offering free tuition and student loan debt forgiveness by increasing taxes is unfair to the people that we are supposedly trying to assist.

While the merits of whether providing higher education based entirely upon taxes vs. tuition can be debated, I look upon it as whether grown adults should recognize both the benefits and liabilities of obtaining higher education. Dumping tax money into higher ed isn't going to lower the cost of that education--if anything it perpetuates the cycle of irresponsibility.

Controlling the salaries of administrators and coaches along with making better utilization of existing facilities will have a larger impact on tuition. I think that Bernie and Elizabeth should realize the best way to lower tuition is to clamp down on some of the state of the art facilities and dormitories that are the equivalent of luxury hotels. Provide the facilities to have a solid educational environment which includes Internet service in the dorms, but eliminate the high end lobbies and facilities like this one paid for by the taxpayers:

6. Bernie has a higher net favorability rating amongst DEM primary voters than Joe

according to CNN and Morning Consult National Polls Ö. Bernie was trailing Hillary 61% - 30% in XMAS Eve National Polling in 2015 .. 4 years later , .He is only 7% behind Joe in national polling ÖÖ.Why should he drop out ? Ö. Bernie and AOC drew a crowd of 20.000 in LA Today ..Not bad for a "fringe candidate" with no chance to win

9. Yet Bernie is still behind Joe in both polls.

Six points behind in the CNN poll and nine points behind in the Morning Consult poll.

The RCP average shows Bernie behind 8.5% rather than 7% as you are indicating.

12. Bernie really isn't doing that well.... the numbers continue to prove that out

Sanders got 40% of Democratic Primary vote in '16, he's running half that this time. Even if he got 100% of Warren's support, he'd still be behind his '16 vote total. thehill.com

I'm really tired of just those two states deciding who I vote for before I even to vote in a primary. But in November I will vote for whoever gets the nom.

19. Having it all on one day benefits wealthier campaigns

spreading it out encourages grass roots campaigning so candidates can meet directly with as many voters as possible. This levels the playing field.

I agree that I'm tired of those two states deciding since I have the last in the nation primary in DC. I'd like to see the states rotate so that some other states get a chance to be first, especially if there is more diversity.

Might start w/California or New York vs. Texas or Florida, but I guess that's too partisan.
