we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, BUT WE CAN'T HAVE BOTH. Nancy Pelosi, the current leader of the Democratic Party, to the nation at the opening of the 116th congress.

Get it?

How much clearer does it have to be stated? Here's more truth:

Obama raised the personal tax rate on the very wealthy to the level it was at before the nation moved right and elected Reagan. He was limited to that, by executive order, because congress was controlled by Republicans. What we would already have done if only...!

And here's the truth you should know without reading a thing, because it's about who we are:

Biden means the Democratic Party is still committed to fixing the problems of severe income inequality that have severely damaged the wellbeing of our nation. But we will not be adopting extremist plans.

It's not as if we haven't been here before. Our grandparents showed us how to do it and created the greatest period of wellbeing in our nation's history. We can and will too. When we get the power.

“I mean, we may not want to demonize anybody who has made money,” he said. “The truth of the matter is, you all, you all know, you all know in your gut what has to be done. Wealthy people would generally go on being wealthy. I'm not aware of a major Democratic candidate proposing any policies that would fundamentally change the basic class relationships in this country. This is largely a question of how economically polarized society is going to be, or if further polarization will occur.

“I was in a caucus with James O. Eastland,” Biden said. "He never called me 'boy,' he always called me 'son.'" He also cited Talmadge, calling him "one of the meanest guys I ever knew.”

Well I mean, of course. You aren't aren't BLACK. Joe. !!

And then this--
"Well, guess what?" Biden said. "At least there was some civility. We got things done. We didn't agree on much of anything. We got things done. We got it finished. But today, you look at the other side and you're the enemy. Not the opposition — the enemy. We don't talk to each other anymore."

As if it is BOTH SIDES who are to blame... sorry it ain't. Not this time. These are gangsters who are about to finally succeed in turning the USA into a fascist dictatorship...

"I know the new 'New Left' tells me that I'm — this is old-fashioned," he added. "Well guess what? If we can't reach a consensus in our system, what happens? It encourages and demands the abuse of power by a president. That's what it does. You have to be able to reach consensus under our system — our constitutional system of separation of powers."

1-The 'NEW LEFT?" Who's that?
2- Consensus...? Again, I am sorry to say but this is NOT a 'both sides are to blame' moment..

Sorry, as Susan Collins might put it, this concerns me.

And PLEASE this ain't bashing, period.....

Sat Dec 28, 2019, 06:34 PM
Dec 2019

as a racial slur. “Good ole boys?” That term comes from white men referring to themselves and other white men as boys.

“Boy,” in a non-racialized context, can be used to express friendliness and playfulness or hierarchy as a father and son or a boss and clerk. The son vs. boy Biden referred to, as Eastland used these terms with other senators, was about gradations in his patronizing, condescending attitude with white senators.

Willful and persistent misinterpretation as it’s been posted here several times that Eastland called Kennedy boy and had this tendency to use the term with white colleagues.

Because that is how old this hitjob of an article is.
But the OP is even more deceiving by leaving out the context of the quote that actually points to potentially demanding more from the wealthy, just without demonizing people.

“I mean, we may not want to demonize anybody who has made money,” he said. “The truth of the matter is, you all, you all know, you all know in your gut what has to be done. We can disagree in the margins but the truth of the matter is it’s all within our wheelhouse and nobody has to be punished. I read the article..... and to me..

"No one’s standard of living will change, nothing would fundamentally change.”
MEANS, "No one’s standard of living will change, nothing would fundamentally change.”

Sounds like neither the rich, nor the poor.

Biden went on to say that the rich should not be blamed for income inequality, pleading to the donors, “I need you very badly.”

Oh yes they very well SHOULD be blamed; alone? perhaps, perhaps not, but blamed absolutely.

but if he was talking to wealthy donors, then it's fair to assume he was addressing them.

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/6/28/18955310/democratic-debate-2019-biden-bennet

“The deal with Mitch McConnell was a complete victory for the Tea Party,” he said. “We had been running against this for 10 years. We lost that economic argument because that deal extended almost all those Bush tax cuts permanently and put in place the mindless cuts we still are dealing with today that are called the sequester. That was a great deal for Mitch McConnell and a terrible deal for America.”

To the best of my understanding at the time, much of the White House staff and the Senate leadership agreed with Bennet that the deal was bad. But some mix of nervous elements among red-state senators and in the White House decided to strike it, and once it was struck, few senators felt like being party poopers and voting no.
