Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumThe whole point is to discredit and cripple the front-runner,
whoever that may be. If Joe goes down someone else will be next. Don't let it happen.

(7,142 posts)Biden is bashed and Bernie is bashed as being the culprit.
As I said a month ago, none of our candidates are perfect but they are all way better than Trump.
Give me the name of your favorite candidate and I can fill up a column bashing him/her.
The only way we lose in 2020 is if we fight among ourselves.

(2,531 posts)frequent "feelings" of discomfort??? That's a normal human reaction. I don't like to be touched. Never have. But when someone touches me, I don't view it as an intentional intrusion of my space or "power." Touching is normal human contact. Now, I will say that some of Joe's touching may cross the line, but I don't see any reason to have a cow about it. Mocking: Oh I'm so wounded. He touched me!
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
Amen, thanks for pointing this out! The bashing is coming from Republicans and their allies in the media. I was home sick Sunday channel switching cable news and it was Joe and his inappropriate touching ALL DAY LONG! Dont get involved in troll based Dem bashing!

Trump knows only one who could beat him is Biden. Antithesis of himself.
Oh fuck..another 4 years

I'm sure there are MANY pics and videos of Biden hugging and laying hands on girls and women...and men. In his case, there's nothing improper in it as far as intent. He's just that way.
I'm guessin' he's going to curb that habit, now, though.

I hope there's someone in the wings..cuz if Biden goes down
No one else will beat trump at this point. New blood?

But Trump (and the Left) will be picking them off one at a time unless we refuse to play along in any fashion.

(37,648 posts)They are all certainly better than Trump by a long shot. But as far as winning, they are not created equal.
Although I'm not convinced Biden can, either. He's run several times and never come close. But he is certainly the most experienced in the field. Nothing he hasn't seen or dealt with before...even personal attacks. Most of the others, if not all of them, have never run for political office on a national level. It's a horse of a different color. I'm actually having a hard time finding someone I like enough (in every sense of the word) to support for the nominee.
I'm hoping the debates clear the field for the top contenders, whoever they may be. I'm sure one or two will rise to the top and show they can win.

(42,770 posts)Of at least two more who may jump in.
I agree with you though. To me, it just feels like we need someone with depth of experience. Just doesn't feel like the right time to run a newbie, however bright they are. The risk is way too high.

(37,648 posts)I wonder who else might jump in? And why? Will they have national election experience? A different viewpoint? More choices = a good thing, I guess. Unless it's just one more like the ones we have already.

(10,825 posts)This is coming from the Left & the Right. The Trumpster is already making jokes about it. I'm sure he's thrilled because Biden is a genuine threat to Trump's beloved base.
But, of course, you're correct: if not Joe Biden the scorched earth approach will be used on anyone perceived as a strong candidate. Kamala Harris, for instance.
Which is why an earlier post today was so very on the mark. Control the narrative or lose the entire storyline. These drip, drip, drip attacks are purposeful and will continue to try an undermine the Democratic Party, our candidates and our messaging.
We cannot allow that to happen because winning in 2020 is critical. If we want to have a country or a future, that is.

(42,770 posts)You are right. It works like a charm. I saw it first hand in Texas with Beto. He was on the rise and then they released dirt to Facebook which spreads like wildfire with the stupider people who never research or question.
Why I haven't understood why we don't buy the same lists as Republicans do on Facebook and immediately release truthful ads when their false ones drop.

(13,390 posts)Get it all out before October of 2020. We're all going to make compromises and decide what is forgivable or not during the primary. this is just one of many potential problems for one of many candidates. I don't see why his name is being polled along with declared candidates. To call him a "front-runner" when he has not declared is foolish.

(15,315 posts)Biden is near the bottom in my ranking of candidates, and I can see the hit job for what it is. It boggles my mind that people supporting other candidates can't see the danger and realize all of our candidates are basically sitting ducks with this bullshit.
