What happens to all that money raised, if a candidate pulls out ?
I mean you can't give it back, or if you can, do you give it back proportionately ?

They CAN'T do anything they want with it. It's political money in a Federal account. It can be spent on another Federal race, or it can be contributed (within contribution limits) to other Federal candidates or Committees, or it can be returned on a last in-first out basis.

guess the use it for "expenses" -- hopefully, they donate a remainder it to the nominee or another candidate if it's not over.
