My own personal five second interaction with Joe Biden.

(Reposting from GD)

About 15 or so years ago, back when he was still Senator Biden, he was the headline speaker at the local Jefferson Jackson Dinner.

After finishing my dinner but before the Senator was scheduled to take the stage, I headed off to the restroom.

As I was walking there, walking the other way was Senator Biden, flanked by two handlers.

They seemed like they were headed somewhere in a hurry so I didn't want to delay them.....but I was a little excited. Still, I wanted to act cool about it.

So I just said, "Good evening, Senator" in a nice, calm voice as we passed.

And Biden looks at me, and his face erupts in a cheek to cheek grin, and he bellows out, "Good evening to you, young man!"

I'm not lying when I say this: It felt extremely genuine. It didn't feel forced or put on in the least. In just that quick little interaction, I could tell that Joe Biden is genuinely a people person--someone who likes interacting with both strangers and friends alike. While I would have loved to talk with him more, I didn't want to hold him up. But if I had, I'm sure he probably would have patted me on the back or put his hand on my shoulder, simply because that seemed to be his style.

Later on, he gave his speech to the dinner, and I'm not lying when I say it is still the best political speech I ever saw delivered in person. And that's no easy feat--I've actually seen President Clinton speak twice. It was heartfelt, moving, and the audience was utterly captivated as he delivered it.

He's a good man and while I'm not endorsing him right now, he deserves our thanks and support for the decades of service he has given our country.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Children in the crowd were tired from standing. Biden asked them on stage to sit. He is truly thoughtful and kind.

He looked great, and the crowd of college students loved him..

Biden likes people because . . . .he likes people.

Others 'like' people because they are seen as a means to an end.

Not hard to see the difference.
