Joe BidenCongratulations to our presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden!

Bernie lost to Hillary in 2016...

Bernie couldn't beat Hillary in the Democratic Primaries...and technically, tRump beat Hillary in the General Election...Sooooo..We need to realize.. Bernie couldn't and can't beat tRump...

It is logical.... I'm just applying a Triage thought methodology to finding our Democratic Candidate.....

Biden would of been our 2016 Candidate... if he chose to run in 2016....
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

1. That's not remotely logical.

21. Correct, the logic is very flawed.

Conceptually, he's saying something like A beat B, and C beat A, therefore C beats A... but what this ignores is that the voting pools are completely different (as is the actual electoral mechanism).

It is entirely logically possible that Sanders beats Clinton among Dems, but that Sanders beats Trump when in the larger voting pool of a general election, even if Trump beats Clinton.

2. I think the logic is that somehow non-Democrats and "the youth" would have swarmed to the

polls if he had won the primary. Even though there is nothing - really NOTHING - to indicate that would happen.

I don't get it, but to each their own.

4. I'm just thinking out loud so to speak...

I am glad I don't have to vote until March 17....I still don't have any passionate or firm decision regarding who to vote for....This is very unusual for me.

6. I was holding Bloomberg as my fallback position, hoping we would see some groundswell

for Biden or Amy or in my wildest dreams, Liz, in the coming weeks. But then I read this post:

https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1287&pid=532704

and I declared for Bloomberg.

10. I do have a strong pulse for Bloomberg...

This is because I think he could beat tRump ....that actually is my primary focus....He has the money, vast resources and really wants to get tRump out of the WH....

I don't want anyone similar to tRump...I don't think he is...his business is open... legal..not mafia ...all positives. I guess, we all could live with that....

18. Ohhh, yea..

I believe the Democratic Debate tomorrow will be or at least could very well be a game changer. I will record it just to rewind on candidates response if needed....I only have until March 17th....Ohio votes then.

Then got his ass kicked by a 19 to 1 longshot named Alphabet Soup.

5. The issue was turnout. As the Atlantic reported a lot of Obama voters who were young and liked

Sanders stayed home. 4 million of them.

Much more people voted for her than Sanders. Deal with it.

8. The party

by nominating a Democratic Socialist will give the entire Southeast to Trump and we will lose 12-16 House seats. No Democratic Senator up for reelection wants Sanders on top of ticket. It's a nightmare.

15. We don't need the Southeast.

Sure it would be great to win Florida, NC, or Georgia but we can win without them.

12. Bernie is leading in the polls and in the popular vote. Joe Biden ran in

1984 - 1 delegate
1988 - 2 delegates
2008 - 64,041 votes (finished 7th)

I'm sorry, but he won't, and if he can't win Florida, he can't beat Trump.

That said...if he is the nominee, I will vote for him.

16. If he can win every state Clinton won in 2016...

and also win Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin? He doesn't need to win Florida. (And Sanders beats Trump in all 3 in head-to-head polling although we need more recent polls for better data).

20. Sanders was doing a lot better in the polls against Trump than Hillary for one thing

"Almost every poll has shown that Sanders vs. Trump does a lot better than Clinton vs. Trump Ö and, thatís true nationally."
