Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumI'm not a Warren fan, but one thing I noticed yesterday in the debate.
She was cold, clinical and shredded Bloomberg to ground round. There was no emotion, she talked precisely, used very efficient words and at the end Bloomberg was standing before the world naked. It didn't seem personal for her, but purely business.
Again this is a conflict for me since I don't believe MFA will ever fly, Biden is my guy and I don't like Warrens policies generally, but then I think if thats what she did for Bloomberg, considering how much filth there is on Trump she would decimate him at the first debate.
As much as I like Biden so far he just hasn't demonstrated the pure devastating attack capability that Warren showed last nite.

(6,110 posts)it is my OPINION that senator Warren is the most intelligent and skilled speaker running.
Like I said it is just my honest opinion, and I concede it could be wrong.

Biden has the "nice guy" factor but he does tend to waffle a lot in debate and it loses its punch. Also he seems to not have the drive. Bernie has the drive, but he would likely get riled up by Trump and keel over from a coronary.
Warren showed the cool level headed instinct that we want in a leader.

I don't think it will happen though, because I don't think Trump will debate anyone this year. He'll throw some mud, blame Democrats, etc. and sit the debates out. It won't hurt him with his base and his base is all he has.
Yet another reason I think a wet noodle can beat Trump this year, so vote your passion as you see fit and may the best candidate win the Democratic nomination.

(4,533 posts)I watched her in hearings with bank presidents appearing. She left those experienced, intelligent men whimpering, begging for their mommies. A good lawyer can destroy a witness hiding the truth. And Warren is really really good. When she appeared as a witness before Senator Biden, who was defending the banks headquartered in Delaware while Warren was attacking them, Biden at the end smiled and said Professor, youre good. Really really good.

(30,793 posts)Somebody said she is trying to take a left/moderate lane. Certainly, there is a lot of space to grab in the moderate wing, and it would do her well to be more flexible. Bernie has the rigidly left position cornered.

(86,070 posts)mom/teacher in her interactions with the berg, she has his number and has been studying poverty most of her career, and she has a special place in her contempt for people like mike. And she is a pro at putting someone in their place when it's needed.
People love Rep. Katie Porter for her manner of questioning... she's one of Warren's students. We need a lot of intelligent, fearless women like them in our government. I think Warren has the best solutions for cleaning up the mess after we oust this ogre from the WH.
And Warren is not offering MFA as written in stone policy. She has said on news shows that she would sign any bill that makes it to her desk that will be helpful. She knows she doesn't have all the ideas but she also knows how to do the math.
