Biden looks to win S. C. primary after caucuses

Biden looks to win South Carolina primary after caucuses

After the caucuses wrap in Nevada tonight, the race will quickly turn to South Carolina, a state considered to be Joe Biden’s firewall.

The former vice president has expressed confidence he could win South Carolina, but when CNN spoke to him he wouldn’t call it a must-win.

Biden told CNN he believes his campaign could move forward if he loses South Carolina as long as he does well there.

The reality is Biden has staked a large part of his campaign on South Carolina and what he believes to be his bedrock of support — black voters. But other candidates have started to make inroads with that key constituency of the Democratic party.

Biden told CNN Democrats are now getting to the “meat” campaign with these more diverse states approaching.

On the South Carolina primary, one Biden supporter who fundraises for him told CNN "he’s gotta win it” after staking so much of his campaign on the state.

Mark my words, Bernie is going to win SC and win big. He has the wind at his back and will sail through. The other candidates don’t have a chance to catch him in SC.

I don’t know what that does to the rest of the field after SC, but it can’t be good for them.

Please don’t shoot the messenger. I am just calling it like I see it. We will know if about a week if I was right or completely wrong.

Bernie has tons of support in SC.

I do think Biden might pull off a win since Bloomberg seems to have collapsed but IMO it could go either way and I doubt Biden will win very much outside Richland county.

I know that the front-runner seems to enjoy rock-star status, but I’d prefer a candidate that not only appeals to traditional Democratic constituencies, but other groups as well.

If by some miracle Sanders became the party’s nominee and then by another Miracle overcame Trump, he’d not be able to pull enough Democratic senatorial and congressional candidates across the finish line to victory.

A word to young Bernista fan-boys and can-girls. “Plays well wirh others” really does mean something.

Warren has 5, Bloomberg 20, and Bernie 23. Biden's campaign is strapped for cash. Without win or ultra close second in SC, then edging out Bloomberg on Super Tuesday, it's over.

Biden's future also depends on Warren knocking out Bloomberg - he could return the favor by going all out on Sanders, But he won't. He gave Sanders a leg up in NH with a poisonous ad against Buttigieg, and in the second last debate, gave Bernie a big hug on stage.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
