(419 posts)When the crowd was booing him, and replied with really?!. When asked about his healthcare plan on how to pay, he responded, platitude, platitude, platitude, payroll tax... Still couldnt answer the question when asked directly and the moderators did a disservice to those watching by not holding his feet to the fire. Biden looked overall presidential, I thought.

(47,285 posts)Bernie probably isn't used to being boo'd, nice reality check for him. Not everyone is like his adoring fans at his rallies. Meanwhile, I sincerely worry about his health, as this much pressure cannot be good for a 78 year old man who just had a heart attack. If he was my husband or a close relative, I'd be pushing for him to quit before he does irreparable damage to his health.

(6,109 posts)I average getting 5-10 emails a day from Bernie and a fair number from other candidates, mostly state and local. All the ones from Bernie ask for money. As the debate was ending, I received this email:
US against everyone
Its us against the entire damn political establishment, UNC70
Tonight it was the candidates taking aim at Bernie on the debate stage. Tomorrow it will be their super PACs and their personal billions taking aim at us in television ads.

Never got five before, I suspect that's going to become the norm.

(6,109 posts)Just went back and looked more closely at emails. Have gotten a recent flurry from Bernie. Sustained rate previously was only 1-3 a day, some days none. The tone of these emails have become much more "fearful" -- he/we are under attack and need your money.

(2,042 posts)Its more than the others except for Bloomberg and Steyer but for all the chest pounding about fundraising and mockery of other candidates fundraising by some Sanders supporters youd figure it would be a lot more.

(11,605 posts)This was an e-mail sent to rank and file supporters. He's against wealthy people and corporations having disproportionate access to him at closed door high-dollar fundraisers. I'm pretty sure he doesn't do those kind of fundraisers at all, or if so rarely.

(67,782 posts)....supporter who gave more than 800 "small" contributions early last year, most were $3.00.
Her aggregate? $2821!
She actually gave seven more $3.00 contributions than permissible. And the Sanders campaign accepted the excess (and got dinged by the FEC for that!)

(67,782 posts)There is about a 4% fee plus $0.25-$0.30 per transaction. That's about $0.40, or 15% of the contribution. And then there's finance charges to the user if the bill isn't paid within 30 days.
