Media, political elites who didn't see Trump in 2016 are blowing it again with Bernie Sanders

snip- "All the big-shots screaming for his movement to be squashed could have prevented Bernie’s nomination decades ago — if they’d channeled even a fraction of that energy into making sure that billionaires paid their share and dialed down America’s obscene war machine, and that the United States joined the rest of the civilized world in universal health care and higher ed, as well as child care, family leave, and living wages..." snip

1. Half the Democrats will stay home on Nov. 3 if Bernie isn't the nominee.
Kinda what happened in 2016.

2. And the Biden people say moderates stay home if it is Sanders.
So, is our party damned if we do and damned if we don’t nominate Sanders?
Good Lord, please not four more years of Trump. The country and world are begging us to get our act together. Nov 3 is our only hope as a planet. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

5. I don't think that's true.
I have faith that most Bernie voters see the threat of a second term and will vote for whoever ends up as our nominee.

6. We will lose the advantage of running against a universally hated candidate
America prefers a racist to socialism. It's sad but true.

7. If it can get both at once, it would prefer it even more
Cheeto Benito's brand of authoritarianism is just as willing as any "Socialist"*' to deploy the full force and fury of the State on any entity that it desires.
*IMHO word with so many definitions it means nothing or anything the writer wishes. My point of view is that I disagree with several things that Senator Sanders advocates, but I will not make any attack that weakens him; I still think it's Joe's to lose (and that Pete is smarter than any of the other contenders), but if it's Bernie, I'm all in, walking the precincts and phone banking as needed ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Undecided |
