Ok, so who is OFF your list?

Like "no way in hell" you will vote for them in a primary...

NOT THE GENERAL. So help me God I will vote for WHOEVER gets the Dem nod. But...

OFF my list...like NO FUCKING WAY. Non starter. Don't bother. No, my mind will not change:

Gabbard

Gilibrand

Teetering into 'no fucking way land'

Booker <<<------ needs to stop "Frankening" people

Sanders <<<<------- is not a Democrat, taxes, Russia. <<<<-----he needs to fix ALL THREE of these. Really.

Where are you all?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Most are no where close to being off - it's a great field, really. Maybe Sanders would be the closest, as he's a little more "my way or the highway" than I like. Or his supporters are...but it's still early, and he's still right on the issues for me. Expecting taxes soon, and that should square an old problem.

Gillibrand - Caught her on CNN last night. Had never heard her at length. Was NOT impressed. No depth that I could detect.

Sanders - too extreme for the general election and too old (I speak from experience)

Warren - same (although I REALLY, REALLY like her positions.... more thought out than Sanders. I hope she gets appointed to some cabinet post.

Biden - too old (again, speaking from experience). But not just the fact. The idea that he would pledge to only one term suggests a less than up-to-snuff presidency.

that Ryan creep.

When listing Sanders' negatives, we need to remember that, with an eye to disappointed trumpster fallaways, he is trying to draw substantially more of the socially/religiously conservative populists he did in 2016.

He will have to give them more than just rhetoric and more than just not trying to draw in significant numbers of minorities. They're conservative on cultural issues even if displeased by Republican economics, and he'll have to satisfy them or they'll migrate that short distance back to Trump and other Republicans, who'll also be promising them healthcare, etc.

Millions did, and have been disappointed, but try, try again? The "#Demexit" passion among those disappointed in Sanders for finally conceding the nomination a month after he lost may have not lasted long after that in the media, but millions of deluded followers did "honor" their dishonorable pledges to abandon the Democratic Party altogether. We know almost a full quarter of Sanders' followers voted Republican (12%) or third party. Not all were populists, some were left-wing zealots, but all loudly spouted trumpster-level lies about Democrats. 2% refused to vote altogether.

We're already seeing this kind of behavior again, and it could be bigger this time. Sanders, and Russia and the Republicans, has been trying to build on 2016 since 2016.

Sanders then and now is pulling both from within the party and also more of the same types of outsiders hostile to the Democratic Party. They have no intention of voting for whoever the Democratic nominee will be this time either. Both populists and left-wing ideologues are barn-burners, not consensus builders.

Fasten your seatbelts. Even though this time the press isn't going to be burying who and what he and they are so completely, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Amaf, I also think I can see Russia from where I'm sitting. Yes, there they are. Right in front of me.

My overriding concern and question is this: Who can beat Trump by a large enuf margin to have strong enuf coattails to flip the Senate.

I hope to narrow down my favorites to 5 after the first two debates.
Then, maybe to 3 by Labor Day.
Then, will pick one to root for right before Iowa and NH.

Gillibrand (cheerleader for the Franken nonsense)
Gabbard (DINO, fraud)
Williamson (Just no)
Yang (he gives off DT vibes too)
Ryan (DINO)
Gravel (not even a serious candidate)

I'm also not inclined to choose Warren because I think she's a MUCH better legislator and/or policy wonk, and I fear that the office of President would force her to compromise on her morals, which are the best thing about her.

Ryan because he's a centrist who tried to scuttle Pelosi; Sanders because we've been there and done that with the divisiveness and non-loyalty to the party; and Buttigieg as too much of a long shot with just small town and no national experience compared to our leading candidates and potential negatives with a big segment of the party base.

There are so many great candidates to choose from. I'm really tired of hearing about Sanders to be honest. While he has some fiercely loyal supporters he also has the highest and most firm negatives. He's also too extreme to beat Trump because moderate Independents and swing voters are not going to vote for him. My biggest fear is that many will stay home and Democrats will lose down ticket if Bernie is the nominee. What's especially frustrating at this forum is that threads about him takes up all the oxygen here and other great candidates get ignored because one group is always trying to push him onto everyone else and those who can't stand him respond negatively. I'm on the verge of trying to configure settings so I just don't see those threads about him anymore. I want to discuss the Democratic candidates. Seeing all these threads about him actually make me like him even less than I already do. I've been lurking long enough to know you can filter things. Anyone want to tell me how I would go about tuning out Bernie threads so I can more easily find threads about Democratic candidates?

Absolutely no way in HELL I would vote for either of these persons in the primary because I firmly believe nominating either would hand Trump the country on a silver platter. Trump must be crushed, anything less will truly herald the end of this republic.

Of the 19 (at the moment) candidates for the democratic nomination, those 6 are at the bottom of my list right now. I will keep an open mind during the debates but I don't see myself voting for them in the primaries. Of course, I will vote in the general election for whichever democrat wins the primary.

I supported him last time around, but I think his candidacy this time is no longer useful and I'm getting a whiff of narcissism -- common enough among politicians but why else is he running this time? But I'm not comfortable with the anti-Bernie mob either.

Gillibrand -- not quite off my list. The Franken thing was unavoidable given the time and place, though it left a bad taste in my mouth -- but on the other side she has shown some ability to get stuff done.

Otherwise, I'm listening.

All of the others I see as having serious problems (Sanders, Gillibrand, Hickenlooper) or no chance at all of beating Twitler (the rest).

Cory Booker is off for me because he voted against importing Canadian drugs because: they are just too dangerous. This was a deal killer for me - I don't trust he cares enough to fix our health problems or is at least in bed with the Pharm industry.

I personally believe you vote for whoever seems to match your ideals in the primary and then back the Democrat in the General.

Beto--one inspirational speech after losing isn't enough

Williamson --because we can't woo woo our way out of all our problems

Gabbard---very good and very bad

Sanders
Inslee

Harris

Harris because I would love a woman of color to lead this country. She has every day experience in fighting through the shitstorm in this country. I could overlook some of her stands on issues because of what it takes to be her. ( I am a brown woman, and I know I have it easier) The other three because they are about climate and the issues facing the people who are just scraping by.
