The Biden Veepstakes....

Last edited Wed Mar 4, 2020, 10:32 AM - Edit history (1)

Too early? NAAAHHH!

IMHO, the Veep MUST be a woman, and SHOULD be a woman of color.... folks I am keeping my eye one:

1) Kamala (I really want her. Fight me.)
2) Stacey Abrams (really great speaker, but no national experience)
3) Liz (a BRILLIANT woman and a tough fighter)
4) Tammy Duckworth (Love her, but has a young kid.... might not want the crushing campaign schedule)
5) My really unlikely Sleeper..... Michelle Obama (So you liked Obama-Biden? How about Biden-Obama!?) (J/K) (Maybe?)
6) Not a woman, but Cory Booker would be great.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I love Cory Booker, he was my first choice for President, but I think it should be a woman.
I also love Stacey Abrams, but she has no experience with high office.

and for those who don't think we need a strong assertive woman, just watch how badly Trump responds when he can't avoid facing one. Nancy Pelosi is but one example.

He doesn't care personally because he doesn't let anyone but him have any responsibility. She would be an election prop only, but she could be an effective foil and she is an attack dog.

I actually don’t know this - is there a requirement VP candidates be “natural born citizens”?

Biden would be smart to look at latinx options. He’s already got support of the black community, the blue collar workers, and a nice chunk of the senior population.

then a woman Governor or Senator from the midwest, preferably with a long record. Amy & Liz still on the list, but failed to enthuse. It has to be someone steeped in experience and ready to run in 2024 or assume the office at any time. He needs someone with national experience in that regard.

A sleeper would be someone southern. I still think Stacey Abrams is too inexperienced, a former State house leader. No national resume.

Sadly our ranks are thin after 10 years of GOP House and Senate ownership. Obama 2009-2010 was busy with Great Recession and not tending to party matters.

that would make heads explode. Especially a big orange one.

Seriously, she is absolutely the best choice anyone could imagine. So what she hasn't been elected to any office. Neither was trump.

She doesn't have a single negative (other than the obvious to trumpists). She is well known and well liked. She is smart and passionate.

The only thing she isn't is an attack dog. That is important in a vp, but not the most important attribute. She can cut like pelosi without ever going negative.

That's my vote. But I like harris.

But if he chooses a sitting senator, it will be one he can be assured won't cost us a seat. We need every body we can get in the senate.

Amy and Pete turned a Biden good night, when he might be down 150 delegates or so, to a great night, where is is tied or ahead.

I like Abrams. But show me that she can deliver GA with the rethugs there in charge.
I like Harris. But her campaign fizzled early. And she didn’t endorse when it could have made the most difference.

I KNOW that Amy can help deliver the Midwest. Which is where we need to win to beat Trump.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
