Whoever wins the nomination takes on the burden of winning the White House

If you get the nomination, your campaign either takes the win or the loss. End of story . It's the nominee's responsibility to motivate the base and bring in new voters with their policy positions stated clearly and effectively that win elections.

Relying on a "Trump is a bad person" strategy will fail. Recent elections show this. Dems won big in 2018 based on two things: the Medicaid expansion and protections for pre-existing conditions. IOW, POLICIES WON. Give people tangible real, life improving policies gives you the best shot at winning.

he's the devil, even though he is. And that's the main problem with running a very negative campaign against him. All Trump then has to do is convince people that he's not the devil or that his opponent is just as bad as he is.

Most Americans don't watch cable news, esp. MSNBC. They don't follow politics as closely as DU. They want to hear policy positions first and foremost esp. those that may vote for you.

it could make 60 million voters who won't admit it that vote against you again. Because people are like that.

Yeah, we are a nasty species. Maybe one day we will tame our darker spirits, but it won't be before 2020. Time to accept that and move on.

52% of the UK voted for Brexit. 56% of Brazil voted for Bolsonaro. In France and Germany the far right is rising. Doesn't this tell you something about your fellow humans?

10. The BULLSHIT line that dems better give me a reason to vote FOR them is just that

bullshit.

Dems have given and will continue to give hundreds of reasons. This is a rightwing propaganda line that people fall for.

People voted for rump because he is a racist, primarily.

11. So dismissing them as racists will win votes,

but a clear focused message about what we plan to do won't?

"Hundreds of Reasons" is the bullshit. I can give you hundreds of reasons on why you should care about climate change alone. Trust me, you'll change the channel before I get to number 5.

That's my focused message of why focused messaging rather than "hundreds of reasons" is what counts. If that alone doesn't change your mind, would a detailed set of white papers on my website help you? Would you even look at it? If it wouldn't matter, why not?

13. I'm telling you several things
Fri Apr 12, 2019, 02:48 PM
Apr 2019

1) A surprisingly large percentage of people or either pure racists or lean that way. This may be wrong of them, but that's how it is.
2) More people lean racist when they perceive a benefit in doing so.
3) The leaners cannot be stopped by either calling them racists(cf deplorables) or dismissing them as racists therefore unreachable.
4) It can be stopped by offering clear policy alternatives to the racist agenda being presented to them.
5) For most people, a handful of clear simple positions on key issues is more effective than detailed positions on many issues.
6) A good candidate will identify the key issues then clearly, concisely, and repeatedly articulate the points.

Have a one sentence answer for the GOP talking point of the day/week/month and then pull a Kellyanne Conway, but be truthful! Ala- I answered your question, now let's talk about what really is important to voters - and get the policy messages out clearly and easy to understand.

It will take hard work to restore the damage the GOP has done to our _____________, and this what we plan to do about it.
