Joe BidenCongratulations to our presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden!

Mon Apr 15, 2019, 08:17 AM

Today is kind of a big day for BS, oligarchs, liberal elites,...

The establishment, and corporate media.

Itís tax day!

Seems the talk about Sanders taxes has died down since his uncomfortable and somewhat unclear comments about April 15th. They were just clear enough to let us know they were being released no later than today.

I think a couple of camps are a bit nervous about it. Both those who support him and those who donít.

Unless something wipes it out it is going to be a big part of a full day of news and then discussed again over on the weekend shows.

If he is relentlessly attacked because he has become a multimillionaire off of book sales, he and Janes salary(depending on where that salary came from), and investments and pensions, I predict the Biden impact will come into play. Not only will his troops rally but so will others.

If we find out he has been a millionaire for some time(not sure we would know this as most of Janes major earning years were just outside of ten years ago), the Sanders were paying themselves and friends to do media buys and conduct polling, he releases corrected returns or redacts information, or worse.... I donít want to be around for the war. Itís going to get bad. DU might blow up. It is also something that might have consequences going into the general.

I donít like Sanders. I havenít hidden that. But Iíve come to the opinion it is best to beat him at the ballot box. He is going scorched earth and if there is something truly egregious in his tax returns he will make sure the party pays a price. That is why I really hope he is correct. His taxes are boring.

There is only one thing I know for sure. His fund raising email this afternoon is going to be a work of art. Please post it when you get it.

Happy Tax Day!

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

2. If that is the case...

I will have my helmet ready. I don't think he can gain any additional support if he doesn't release ten years worth of full returns. He needs to gain to win. He won't go down quietly.

4. I agree, if he doesn't release 10 years of taxes he is toast.

Now, are we going to hold the rest of our candidates to the same standard? I hope so.

I have to laugh, Bernie is held to releasing 10 years but Trump gets away with fighting releasing 6 years.

6. I don't use Trump as a standard for anything.

I do agree with the main thought you put forward. All of our candidates should release ten years at a minimum. It is something I take into consideration. Where I differ from most here is that I don't think it should be a requirement. It would be very hard for me to vote for someone who doesn't release their taxes.

9. With that said,

the argument that he is a liberal elitist because he and his wife made a million dollars is a pretty lame argument, agree?

10. I think "liberal elitist" is a laughable term at best.

No, Sanders is not one. The term has no standing. If the term had merit Sanders would qualify under the general concept. It is not a term you will find me using outside of a little ribbing.

3. Yet another hit piece on Bernie,

I have to laugh, out loud even, at the horror that Bernie is a millionaire. I hate to say this but being a millionaire isn't being in the 1%.

My daughter is a staunch Democrat, started out working in a distribution center for Cardinal Health in Knoxsville, was promoted to corporate headquarters in Columbus, was hired at Thermo Fisher in Pittsburgh, was hired at a medical device company in Pittsburgh where she is V.P. of Finance for North America. She is 42 years old and working on her 2nd million. Work hard like my daughter did and you too can become a multi-millionaire, or one can just call people who worked hard, liberal elites.

Frankly I'm sick of the attack ads by Democrats against Democrats. I'm going to call every one of them out, no matter the candidate.

I may send Bernie some money for every hit piece I see, although right now I'm not planning on voting for him.
Bernie is one of the reasons we had a blue tsunami in 2018, he moved our party back to the center where it belongs, back to where FDR envisioned our party. Afraid of being called a Socialist, simply reply that I am an FDR Democrat.

5. Funny that you call it a hit piece yet we agree on your main premise.

I even addressed it in my op. Nothing big if he is a multimillionaire off of his book sales, salaries, and pensions.

I'm very happy for your daughter. Economic security means a lot in society today.

"I hate to say this but being a millionaire isn't being in the 1%."

On that you are not correct. Sanders earnings for years has been over the one percent earning mark. That is known. Why say it isn't a big deal and then throw that in? I don't hold it against him.

12. You are right, I stand corrected,

I was way off base with what it took to be in the top 1%. I thought the earnings would be much higher.
I was way wrong, and then when one figures out what it takes to be in the 1% going state by state, the earnings can be a lot less. Bernie is definitely in the top 1%, but then again, he is still one of the poorer Senators, I think.

I'm not even planning on voting for Bernie at this stage, but I do know that the only way we lose in 2020 is if we fight among ourselves.

13. The moment Sanders drops his taxes...

Thatís all it will be about for a cycle. Hopefully it is Mayor Pete until that point. No matter what happens he is going to play a big role in the future of our party.
