14. The returns were presumably (we've been told by the Sanders) prepared using Turbotax...
Mon Apr 15, 2019, 06:52 PM
Apr 2019

...which is what I've been using since the early 2000s myself.

It appears that two of the entries on page six are not the original entries - they're a different font and larger than all the others.

Pages 9 and 10 are scans of printed pages, not the pdf pages as prepared by Turbotax.

Again, I have been using Turbotax for almost 20 years, when saving the final return Turbotax generates a pdf file of all the forms.

None of those things have a chance in hell to be enacted into law. Those are simply manipulative slogans to make gullible people vote for him.

I see a similarity -- "The wall" comes to mind.

Trump supporters say that they don't care about Trump's tax returns.

It doesn't mean that there's nothing relevant in them to others.

Bernie reports an offshore account but declares he doesn't need to file FinCEN 114 ... which means he had less than $10,000 in foreign bank accounts.

WHY would Bernie need a foreign bank account? Where is it? He didn't have it in 2016 because he didn't file a Schedule B that year.

On the same form, he reports NO DIVIDENDS. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

and he didn't do it the normal way of exploiting workers, stealing lands or inheritance.

He wrote a book and offered it to be bought (or not) by readers.

He's a deplorable.

Harris is one of my top two choices and no, Bernie isn't the other one. Inslee is. But I can easily see ignoring my qualms about his age and pushing Bernie back up. He DOES have more a chance at the moment than Inslee. Sadly, because Inslee is focusing on climate first, which is my number one issue.

Acknowledging a system that you have done well in is rigged, needs to be changed and fighting for that change is hypocritical would also believe that white people who marched for civil rights, men who marched for women’s suffrage and straight people who voted for gay marriage are also hypocritical. You would also have to believe FDR was the most hypocritical president in our history. It’s such a fucking dumb argument, I can’t even believe I’m responding.

His whole position for years now is that money corrupts.

If he hadn't used his attack machine to go after actual Democratic Party candidates because they accept LEGAL donations from LEGAL corporations and LEGAL PAC's for the repeatedly stated opinion that the money corrupts, all while being a 1%er... there wouldn't be an issue.

We don't care, and never did, that the Clintons had a lot of money, and a lot of financial world ties. We believed in their substance of character to do the right thing for the American people, but BS and his surrogates used that as a club attack.

His own words, and actions makes him a very viable target, and worthy of the word hypocrite. Not the fact that he is a 1%er.

Who is he corrupted by? His supporters aka Progressive American people that bought his book? We should be so lucky that our politicians are in the pocket of the American people. If you have evidence that Goldman Sachs bought the books, them we can talk. Until then, you are just intentionally missing the point.

It bothered me more that the Russotrumpians hacked Podesta's email, the DNc's servers, and on and on, but I'm not happy about those banks, billionaires and PACs having more influence with our candidates than grass roots Dems. And when that kind of money is involved it's inevitable.

And its 99% nothing burger after all the handwringing.

The rest of the Democratic field should follow his lead in sustaining his base, bypassing the punditry when warranted, speaking directly with passion, courting young voters, turning away corporate dollars, and putting people-first issues on the table.

He's sustaining a lot of support through these fundamentals, like it or not.

154. Bernie Sanders guide to accumulating wealth
Tue Apr 16, 2019, 10:27 PM
Apr 2019

(I’m borrowing from a riff on the Majority Report, and mine is not nearly as funny, btw)

#1 Move from the Bronx to Vermont because of all the opportunities there

#2 Move from job to job for over a decade

#3 Get elected as a mayor, then slowly move on to the US House and then finally the Senate

#4 Run for president and write a best selling book when you’re a grandfather

Let’s look at intentions here.

Also, there’s a huge difference between policy and personal actions. He’s saying everyone should be taxed fairly. He’s not saying they should not make money.
