Primary Postmortem Well here we are about to start a General where our very Republic is at stake

and the primary is over. So what you do you think? Highs, lows and in between, it has been an exciting year...ending in tragedy- a pandemic. I would like to thank all Duer's no matter who they supported for a primary season filled with great discussions and excitement. This was the best place to be. And as always I learned a great deal.

I know some here are sad, it hurts when you candidate is not the nominee. But we move on. Everyone here makes DU a fabulous place during the primary, the General and anytime really. Go Joe Biden,we are going to remove Trump after four fucking years kick his murderous ass out of the People's House. November can't come to soon for me. I will be wearing my Woman's march sweatshirt for luck on election day. The march on a surprisingly warm day in January was the beginning. And we will end Trump's murderous rule in November. Hats off to you DU and all members.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

1. Vote by mail. Get your absentee ballot ASAP. Wisconsin was a dry run.

If you aren't fortunate to live in a state that already has statewide vote by mail, make as much noise as you possibly can.

In some states it will probably never happen, so if that's your situation, do everything you can to get an absentee ballot.

3. That is absolutely essential. DeWine is allowing -insisting really -on a mail in primary so

I think the same would be true for the General...we have great early voting but Ohio has been known to toss ballots for shitty reasons...so I am not sure.

5. As an Iowan,,, it is time to get rid of the Iowa Caucus!!

That is just for a start..

And I will miss the candidates if we do.. We have them here for a year.. and really get to know them well. But the time of the caucus is past. Which means we need to have a much shorter season and one that is funded by the public..

As a woman, from day one of this administration we have been Trumps biggest fear.. We are voting him out.

12. I Will Go You One Further, Ma'am

End caucuses.

Period.

Natural experiments have occurred, where states have a caucus, and then a 'beauty contest' ballot later, along with their primary for state and local and other federal offices.

In each instance, the caucus result been contradicted by the general balloting, usually by striking margins. Caucuses do not reflect the sentiment of the voting public.

6. For the most part

I think the Primary section went well - a few times that there were some posts that seemed to miss the point of this site and a few times when things were said/written that seemed to be getting a bit personal. But that happens..........

Now we MUST unite and fight for our common goal, get back OUR White House and put a person in there that cares about the citizens of the United States, not the wallets and egos of a select few.

We have a mission - now let's do it!
