(8,652 posts)...All I want to do is win, not change the world. We can do that next time.
But, for now, we can un-elect a modern day Adolf Hitler, and that must be our first priority.

As you noted, we have to win first.

(1,736 posts)I am for any Democrat in this critical election.
But what's the legislative agenda that will change the world? Looking forward to hearing more about priorities and platform, especially if (or when) Biden declares. Several candidates, including Inslee, are quite specific about what issues define their campaign. These priorities should be discussed as a party to help define the Democratic brand before others define it.

that Bernie benefits most if Biden opts out... Bernie and Biden are not two of the more similar candidates. Also surprised Pete's bounce is from high income people - I would have thought it across all incomes.

(25,467 posts)The preference switch post-Biden this early may be not much more than that. Sometimes, we overcomplicate these things.

(22,912 posts)in non hard core Democratic activist circles Biden and Bernie do not come across as differently as many here seem to be assuming. Both have an image as stand up "fighters", not willing to take crap from Trump and Republicans, willing to take them on head on. Both are white men, for those who unfortunately think that is what a presidential candidate should look like. Both are elders, not relative new comers to politics, which may appeal to some who think experience matters. But perhaps most important, both have clear images as politicians who stand with the working men and women of this nation, and average middle class voters, not "coastal elites". Biden and Bernie do have some overlapping appeal. It may be accurate that Sanders would inherit a lot of, I'll be blunt, white working class and union support, from Biden if he does not run.
