Harris wouldnít add much to the ticket, Abrams would make Georgia in play for the first time in decades and maybe will help to win over FL.

disagree with your statement about Harris not adding much to the ticket. She's been laying low for a while, which is good. Keeps her from burning out too quickly. Pete has no choice but to flood the airwaves because he's new on the national stage.

that gets traction quickly. He canít just flood airways, he hasnít even spent much yet. He is invited everywhere cause he is getting enormously popular. Besides, his LGBT status is a huge advantage when it comes to media. Harris is accomplished but I donít think she is in the same league when it comes to political talent. She is more policy driven and her former prosecutorial background is part of it. Pete is a vision and inspiration driven, that what gets presidents elected as they are not legislators (Congress makes laws, presidents set vison).

where we already win. Abrams is very popular in Georgia where she probably won if not for fraudulent voters purge. Unfortunately, Harris has become a controversial figure in San Francisco - Espinoza case. While district attorney in SF, she decided not to pursue death penalty for a gang memeber who killed a police officer. This can sink her in general election.

The ones that actually show up to vote.

She is ranked the most progressive Senator. She has raised a ton of money (2nd to Bernie). She is against for profit college, for M4A, helped usher in marriage equality, sits on some pretty important Senate committees, etc. etc.

She is wicked smart, has a ton of charisma and is very electable. We would be incredibly lucky to have her on our ticket.

3. Truth told, with how both are polling I think that -right now- it'd be a losing ticket.

Harris is polling terribly even among the southern states and with African Americans, and Buttigieg seems to have plateaued for now. I think we really need to see more out of both of them to consider either of them for any position at this exact moment in time. The debates should help handily solve this, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they ramp up against Biden and to a lesser extent Sanders.

Running a winning campaign is about data, and he has a blind spot when it comes to seeing beyond that data. It's a problem that caused his failures as mayor.

If he wins and believes that win came because he pulled Republican voter to his side. He's not going to turn around and make the calculation that they will stay with him no matter his running mate.

McCain's run against Obama as a perfect example. I don't think those so-called Obama/Trump voter switched because they believed or liked Obama's message. They couldn't see themselves voting for Mccain and risking Palin becoming president. They didn't want an incompetent woman like Palin, and they hated the most qualified woman, Clinton.

I'd say the same about any of the candidates running on their suppose strength to reach the other side.

It saddens me that Harris isn't doing better. I must admit, her gender and racial make up is huge for me. Yup, I just railed against identity politics and engaged in it in the same post.

But I think the Female POC viewpoint needs to be heard.

They might not like that he's gay, but they'd vote for him like they did Obama. I think their misogyny and racism is way stronger than their homophobia.

Especial if we run two white guys. That ticket would keep power in the hands of two white men, and that's what they feared in Clinton's candidacy.

64. My intent was not malice

I have a friend who hates it when people do not capitalize Black, which also falls under the category as human.

So I did some digging on to why I would do such a thing and this kind of sums up my intent.

https://www.quora.com/Why-is-the-word-black-sometimes-capitalized-when-referring-to-race
To conclude: ďBlackĒ is not a race. It rather pays respect to a group of people distinguishable in their culture, history and even in their genetic make-up from any recent immigrants from Africa.

the part that refers to my capitalization, is this: It rather pays respect to a group of people distinguishable by their culture, history....

To me there is a history to the treatment to a group of humans who are gay. People are killed, shunned, denied jobs and more, as you well know.

I was just tipping my hat. Really, I did not mean to single out in a disrespectful way or in a sense of "otherness".

I now know not to capitalize the word gay and that in doing so, I may have inadvertently slighted individuals I was trying to respect.

74. Now that would be an interesting ticket

Both are whip smart. And both coming representing Americans who haven't been represented at the highest office.

I like the idea of President Pete but I don't think he'd turn down an offer to build his federal political resume by serving a term as VP. Why would he?

41. I didn't suggest any combination would work

Hillary and Barack Obama got pretty pointed in their debates but they retained a mutual respect and admiration.

I don't see Pete being the vicious type and I think, if he falls short of the nomination, he would accept a VP spot from whoever comes out on top.

47. Running mates arent chosen till just before the convention, late next summer, its a long way to go

It just seems pointless to me to play these games before the first debates, months away. Candidates need to stand on their own first, see how they shake up in real political battles. Then decide

43. I'm not sure I understand the logic.

Just Pete... does that mean Pete w/o a running mate or Pete and someone besides Kamala? None of the above could mean neither for either.

I think I'll choose just Pete... I guess.

65. Here's the logic as I see it -

As David Axelrod said, in a city thatís 26% his audience on Sunday was very white.

Second, after Obama and HRC, a ticket of two white men is a significant negative.

Third (maybe an eccentric view) their personalities are complimentary.

Finally, as a former prosecutor Kamala strengthens the focus of improving peopleís lived experience. Pulling down derelict house and getting truant kids resonates with middle America

57. I think so! Also, my concerns about Bernie/Warren

Yes, this is my dream team. Some of the legit worries that I've seen regarding the two are not unfounded, but I do think these two provide huge incentive to get out the vote:

A) Both extremely likable (each has a good combo of being warm but strong)
B) Both insanely intelligent
C) Relatively new to the scene and VERY new to the scene.
D) I actually feel like anything used against the two that is clearly homophobic or racist could create a huge backlash with independents. I've seen a few Republicans come out and support Mayor Pete already, which just boggles the mind (in a good way). He's tapping into something -- perhaps it's the calm, no b.s. demeanor.

As unfair as this is, the youth factor/sexy/hip vibe creates enthusiasm and support -- that whole "Democrats need to fall in love" sort of thing. Many people thought Obama could not win during the 2008 primary (including Hillary who actually said so explicitly), but the fact that he was new, hip, brilliant, and extremely likable, and could turn out all types of people is what I think sealed the deal. While I very much like Sanders and Warren and almost always agree with what they say, I'm worried they would be like John Kerry. They would be painted as boring, out-of-touch NE liberals. The video of Warren in the kitchen with her husband was used to depict her as an awkward nerd who is hard to connect to on a human level. I'm also not sure I see droves of college students or other groups we need, say, in Ohio voting for Warren. And do you remember Warren in the 2016 convention? There was so much hype, but I thought her delivery of the speech was rather poor; she did not connect well. Even the crowd seemed rather bored, and some could be seen just talking among themselves as if she wasn't even speaking. I was really surprised, actually. And disappointed. Unfortunately, a strong personality (even if offensive) motivates Americans.

Regarding Bernie, that curmudgeonly, oft-annoyed demeanor could wear thin? I just don't feel particularly inspired by his speeches; I feel tired. The visuals (as shallow as this is) aren't exactly awesome either -- head bandages from falls, red angry face, crazy hair... and we are still nearly two years away from any inauguration. Some may find that combo to be endearing, and maybe I would too if I thought he was talking to me instead of AT me...feels condescending sometimes. Of course, compared to Drumpf, he is absolute perfection.

So although I like them, I might be a bit worried to see them go against Drumpf. As we know, general polling is different from actual voters/turnout.

At the same time, I do hear the arguments against Mayor Pete, and how very risky it may be. As stated above, we NEED to win, so I also understand the idea that now is perhaps not the time to be taking potentially wild risks? Having said that, the heart wants what the heart wants!

Tough call. Still early, of course! I may just look at polling against Drumpf near primary election time and just go with the candidate who appears (!) to have the best shot. Because all of us know getting him out of office is of the utmost importance.

Am I way off here?
