2. Will Bernie blame Hillary again?

"Bernie blames Hillary for allowing Russian interference"

The senator and his top political adviser also denied Mueller's assertion that Russian actors backed his campaign.

Bernie Sanders on Wednesday blamed Hillary Clinton for not doing more to stop the Russian attack on the last presidential election. Then his 2016 campaign manager, in an interview with POLITICO, said he’s seen no evidence to support special counsel Robert Mueller's assertion in an indictment last week that the Russian operation had backed Sanders' campaign.

Fired Sanders aide: I wasn't peeking at Clinton data files
By Dan Merica
Updated 9:22 AM ET, Fri December 18, 2015

(CNN) The Bernie Sanders campaign staffer who was fired for accessing data unique to the Hillary Clinton campaign's vote file, told CNN on Friday that he was only trying to "understand how badly the Sanders campaign's data was exposed" and not attempting to take data from the Clinton campaign.

"We knew there was a security breach in the data, and we were just trying to understand it and what was happening," said Josh Uretsky, reached by phone on Friday morning, a day after the campaign let him go.

He added, "To the best of my knowledge, nobody took anything that would have given the (Sanders) campaign any benefit."

Sanders Campaign's Breach of Clinton Data More Serious Than Disclosed
By Sam Frizell Updated: December 18, 2015 3:48 PM ET

Bernie Sanders’ campaign’s breach of Hillary Clinton’s voter data may have been more extensive than previously reported, according to a person with knowledge of investigation.

According to data reviewed by TIME, the Sanders campaign appears to have obtained files with lists of voters that the Clinton campaign had cultivated in 10 early states including Iowa and New Hampshire.

Beyond simply reviewing the data, the logs show the Sanders staffers took deliberate steps to harvest and store the information. According to the logs, the Sanders staff created from scratch no fewer than 24 lists—consisting entirely of data pulled down from the Clinton campaign’s database—and saved them to their personal folders.

The logs show the Sanders campaign accessed the Clinton data for nearly one hour beginning around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday. The Sanders staffers were apparently able to view unique voter information along with accompanying information about how likely the voters were to vote for the various candidates, crucial information that the Clinton campaign has likely spent millions of dollars to collect.

3. Yes, he did.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) called on Thursday for Congress to continue an investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 presidential election and whether President Trump sought to obstruct a law enforcement probe into the matter.

Sanders also said that lawmakers should take steps to bolster security ahead of future elections, suggesting that the president and congressional Republicans had so far stood in the way of such work.

Has BS reacted to the fact that some of his supporters were targeted, tricked, and manipulated by the Russian disinformation campaign?

It might even be that the members of his campaign who voted for Jill Stein were among the useful idiots that the Russian disinformation campaign created. What else would explain their support of Jill Stein?

21. I don't think BS has acknowledged the extent of the Russian interference.

The effort to promote Sanders as a way to influence the U.S. election began shortly after he declared his candidacy in spring 2015, according to Mueller’s indictment of the Russians. Russia’s aim was to defeat or weaken Clinton, who had angered Russian President Vladimir Putin when she had been secretary of state.

snip=======================================

Hopefully BS and his campaign will avoid RT this cycle.

During the primaries, Sanders gave at least three interviews to a Russia-controlled television network, RT, in which his trade stance was highlighted. The network in February 2016 criticized MSNBC for breaking away from Sanders after he said he was “helping to lead the opposition to the Trans-Pacific Partnership.” The network posted a story headlined, “Bernie Sanders 'censored' by MSNBC while criticizing trade deal.”

Around the same time that Sanders was featured on RT, Russian employees at the Internet Research Agency were given a document explaining how to influence the U.S. election. The workers were told to “use any opportunity to criticize Hillary and the rest (except Sanders and Trump — we support them),” according to Mueller’s indictment of the Russians.

23. Are you saying he knowingly cooperated with Russian support with the intent of destabilizing

the Democratic candidate? Do You assert that his participation was as designated spoiler?

Do you likewise state that his participation in the primary was disingenuous and did not represent legitimate interests of registered Democratic party members and voters?

Do you assert that his fund raising had no legitimate political purpose and was a deception to essentially deny funds to other "legitimate" Democratic candidates?

Do you assert that his actions in the Senate were to act as front for divisive attacks on Democratic candidates and had no purpose regarding the rights or needs of Democrats and American citizens?

Do You assert that the actions of the Russian Trolls were in accord with his political goals and methods?

I ask you to recall the behavior of Donald Segretti and the Rat Fucking gang under Nixon's Campaign and the later actions of Lee Atwater on Reagan's behalf. They engaged in all kinds of illegal behavior to forward their candidates by disrupting the Democratic primaries. Their actions shaped the outcome of the primaries and the elections in ways which benefited or damaged various Democrats along the way. Are you asserting the Democrats who benefited during those primaries were eager and co-opted participants as well?

27. You have to admit that suspicion is understandable when he doesn't speak up

And both acknowledge what happened and speak strongly to his supporters about what happened and what is already starting again. At least for me that is why I completely tune him out now. I don't trust him and probably never will be able to again based on his inaction. He is so divisive and if you look on social media there are some of his supporters that seem to devote all of their time to trolling other candidates pages, spreading lies about other candidates running now. You see it on every single Beto live stream where Bernie supporters (they have his photo all over their profiles) spam the chat messages with lies and attacks. The longer he ignores this the more convinced people are likely to become that it's intentional. It is what it is. This is not intended to attack anyone. I'm just trying to explain why there are suspicions.

34. I agree that some of his supporters pitch outrageous filth at other candidates. It confusing

to see him apparently ignore the need to either discipline or disavow them.

I am concerned that he seems tone deaf on the need to publicly address the Russian questions. it does not help his causes that he has yet to address this.

I am also very aware of the effect a similar situation had on my favorite ex-senator when the Russian Trolls hyped and amplified #MeToo sentiments. It did Al Franken no good at all to ignore events and implications, and defer comment. It amplified reasonable suspicions and allowed those with agendas to drown out the truth.

I saw the activities of the DNC on the ground during the primaries in NC. They did everything they could above and below board to deny progressive voices in the NC Democratic party. Between GOP and Russian interference and dis-information, and the actions of the DNC and our own NC party there was much ammunition for doubt and suspicion regarding Democratic goals and methods. Bernie and his people didn't create that doubt. Any Democrat speaking to progressive issues got the same treatment. Any NC Democratic donor was given a very clear picture of what they were funding and what or who was NOT on the menu.

But that was the last primary and not this one. Surely the DNC and the DCCC have learned from their mistakes?

1. Ask his supporters to not boo Democratic leaders at the convention like John Lewis.
2. Ask his supporters to be respectful at the convention.
3. Refrain from propagating a conspiracy theory that the primary was stolen from him despite losing by 4 million votes.
4. Actively campaign for Hillary to showcase Hillary and her platform instead of promoting OR at her expense.
5. Condemn his campaign stalwarts like Nina Turner, Cornell West, Brihana Gray or David Sirota from promoting Jill Stein.

41. Voting against Russian sanctions multiple times should raise suspicion.

Tad Devine's involvement with the campaign and the similarities to the campaign Devine and Manafort worked on for Putin should raise suspicion. Insistence until recently that discussion about Russian interference was just a distraction should raise suspicion.

And why is he putting these Jill Stein supporters in top positions in his campaign?

There are legitimate questions and concerns out there.

I am not defending his present hires. Some of them worry me as to why would he hire them and who may be so advising him.

I was speaking to the past campaign in regards to the charges of co-opting and colluding. Bernie was not Jill Stein AFAIK.

The vote against the sanctions bill was to defeat added, unwarranted Iran sanctions and thus protect the Nuclear agreement. I agree with protecting that deal. The GOP put both together and refused to consider them independently, per Trump and the Neo-Cons.

I will also say I among many others are tired of the animosity seemingly carried over from 2016. If you are looking for a principle cause of that set of events you must begin with the decisions made well prior to the primary season by the DNC and other Democratic leaders to steer the primary towards their preferred candidate and the actions they took long before the Primary to limit fund raising and participation in policy decisions.

I do not accuse them of generating the "defeat". I observe that they acted in the interests of certain influential donors much as they appear to be doing now. The primary chaos which many have tried to blame on Bernie or his followers had many sources including the Russian Trolls and those working for Koch industries, among other GOP patrons. It also derived considerable energy from within our party.

Deep Throat asked Woodward if he understood just how influential those working in the darkness were and suggested they had engineered the choice of 1972 Democratic Candidate. The same groups are busy now modifying the primary process by spinning Democrats against each other and against traditional Democratic causes. Those are the "enemies" of the party IMHO.

And you are certainly correct about candidates and their campaign operatives having to earn the moral high ground.

Bernie blames Hillary for allowing Russian interference
The senator and his top political adviser also denied Mueller's assertion that Russian actors backed his campaign.

Bernie Sanders on Wednesday blamed Hillary Clinton for not doing more to stop the Russian attack on the last presidential election. Then his 2016 campaign manager, in an interview with POLITICO, said he’s seen no evidence to support special counsel Robert Mueller's assertion in an indictment last week that the Russian operation had backed Sanders' campaign.

59. Sanders is now a Russia target, along with a few other Dem candidates

‘Sustained and ongoing’ disinformation assault targets Dem presidential candidates"
A coordinated barrage of social media attacks suggests the involvement of foreign state actors.

By NATASHA KORECKI

02/20/2019 06:05 AM EST
https://www.politico.com/story/2019/02/20/2020-candidates-social-media-attack-1176018

"A wide-ranging disinformation campaign aimed at Democratic 2020 candidates is already underway on social media, with signs that foreign state actors are driving at least some of the activity.

The main targets appear to be Sens. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), and former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas), four of the most prominent announced or prospective candidates for president....

...This is the same core group of accounts the company first identified last year in a study as anchoring a wide-scale influence campaign in the 2018 elections.

Since the beginning of the year, those accounts began specifically directing their output at Harris, O’Rourke, Sanders and Warren, and were amplified by an even wider grouping of accounts. Over a recent 30-day period, between 2 percent and 15 percent of all Twitter mentions of the four candidates emanated in some way from within that cluster of accounts, according to the Guardians.ai findings. In that time frame, all four candidates collectively had 6.8 million mentions on Twitter."

Russia wanted Trump elected. They worked to divide Democrats. Now they want Trump reelected. They are working to divide Democrats. Period. We can't aid and abet their efforts.

Hopefully Russia will not be pulling out the 2016 playbook.

Amarnath Gupta, a research scientist at the San Diego Supercomputer Center at the University of California at San Diego who monitors social media activity, said he’s also seen a recent surge in Twitter activity negatively targeting three candidates — O’Rourke, Harris and Warren.

Elizabeth Warren has also been negatively targeted.

Recent posts that have received widespread dissemination include racially inflammatory memes and messaging involving Harris, O’Rourke and Warren. In Warren’s case, a false narrative surfaced alleging that a blackface doll appeared on a kitchen cabinet in the background of the senator’s New Year’s Eve Instagram livestream.

64. They play all sides against each other. Whatever works

It was revealed that they organized and staged rallies pro and anti KKK at the same time on opposite street corners. They pushed both pro and anti "Black Lives Matter" memes as well. If they can get more bang for the buck by "promoting" either a candidate like Sanders or a cause like Black Lives Matter in a way that predictably will anger many, they will do so. Then they will appeal to the sense of grievance that actual Black Lives Matter or Sanders supporters will experience after being attacked by others in response. They get the same divisive results when they unfairly attack a candidate during a primary as they do when they "praise" a candidate in an obnoxious or divisive manner likely to solicit a backlash. They get division within the Democratic coalition. They want division within the Democratic coalition.

HRC didn't have anyone on her campaign who had partnered with Manafort to get Yanukovych (Ukraine)elected when Yulia Tymoshenko ran against him. She was eventually put in prison thus fulfilling the demand of the chants to 'lock her up' which were repeated at his rallies. The two, Manafort and Devine, had the corrupt Yanukovych promise to make Ukraine great again. Does any of this sound familiar?
