Moulton And Warren: A Tale Of Two Mass. 2020 Candidates

Another Democratic candidate has thrown their hat in the ring for 2020: Massachusetts Rep. Seth Moulton. The congressman said he wants to make his candidacy “about patriotism, about security, [and] about service.” Meanwhile, U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren continued her trend of rolling out detailed policy proposals, as she unveiled her plan Monday to cancel most student loan debt and eliminate tuition at every public college. How will primary voters respond to Moulton, who famously challenged party favorite Speaker Nancy Pelosi, or to Warren’s bet that voters really do care about policy positions, after all?

Jim Braude was joined by two Democratic strategists: Sydney Asbury, former campaign manager and deputy chief of staff for Gov. Deval Patrick and principal of DNM Solutions; and Scott Ferson, former senior advisor to Seth Moulton’s 2014 congressional campaign and now president of the Liberty Square Group.
