...it intensified and now they're full bore on ahem, dare I say it, "dividing the party".

7. I see. So, they aren't doing that, those Justice Democrats?

I guess I see this a different way. I see Joe Biden as a uniting force, not a dividing one. I think everyone will begin to see it that way as he begins his campaign in earnest.

8. Say what? The vast majority of Democrats are "centrists", should we choose a candidate....

....who only seeks to satisfy a small minority of the Democratic Party?

Does Ms. Trudo think that tweets like this are NOT going to "divide the party"?

13. Sorry to disagree

but I am in the majority of not just the Democratic party but of the nation in general, I am an FDR Democrat.

It's why we won a blue tsunami in 2018 because we went back to our roots. I have no intention of moving to the right. I will gladly vote for our nominee but the majority of our members are not centrist, we did not win in 2018 by moving to the right.

lost.

The blue tsunami was fought in swing districts and CENTRIST Democrats won those seats.

It is easy to win in Bronx - not so easy in California's orange county for example.

30. I am afraid you are mistaken, the democratic party is way more center than it is way more leftist

and the only pathway for a win in 2020 is to get the white working class vote back to democrats in PA, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Missouri, and Biden can and will do that because he doesn't have to talk about free handouts or giveaways...a clear losing message to those who are working. He can talk about expanding Obama's education dept student loan programs in forgiveness when working particular jobs and areas of the country, Biden can dismiss the repatriation nonsense and talk about Obama's equal rights policies and anti-discrimination polices He can directly attack trump and stay clear of the fight with his challengers. Biden has national name recognition and is the clear front runner from here to primary season and beyond

I live right in the middle of working class america and they will come out for Biden.

42. Yes, very well said

Joe Biden can put together a winning coalition for 2020 which includes working-class voters who were bamboozled by the Trumpster. Biden's appeal is far wider than other candidates because he can talk to all the issues you mentioned while rewriting the narrative. We are fighting for the soul of this country, for the sustainability of the Republic and the Rule of Law without which no progress or progressive policies are possible. Working-class voters who are reachable are not the goons or the Neo-Nazis or the white nationalists who marched in Charlottesville, those who would ultimately strip everyone of their rights and freedoms. Even their lives.

More importantly, Joe Biden can win in the General. And this time 'round? Winning is everything.

36. Most of the left candidates lost in 2018, thankfully many were in primaries and the...

...more moderate Democrat wound up winning the general election.

Justice Democrats and their endorsed candidates were almost non-existent in our blue tsunami in 2018. They endorsed 76 candidates, only 7 (9%) were elected. Of those seven who won, three were already incumbents and one ran unopposed in her district.

Our blue tsunami was mostly composed of moderate/centrist candidates.

15. Unless a poster clearly indicates otherwise, I assume they agree with anything

they retweet or quote in their post.

This practice---directing us to what someone else said, without comment or explanation---is too often the coward's choice.

If the quote is well-received, the poster takes credit for it.

If the quote is criticized, they're all "Oh, that wasn't ME!"

18. Nate Silver had the perfect, fact-based response:

It's probably worth noting that while this group, Justice Democrats, calls Biden "out-of-touch" with the "center of energy" in the Democratic Party, only 26 of the 79 candidates it endorsed last year won their primaries, and only 7 of those went on to win the general election.

The only issue with Joe is the age issue. But he's not really the divisive rod that Sanders is. That being said, I wish both these old white guys would step aside and let the newer younger Democrats take care of business. Why would they want to be out thru an exhausting ringer at their age? I sure wouldn't.
