This Sure as Hell Isn't 2016!

Not in any way. Everything has changed since then. The old arguments make no sense after 2+ years of Donald Trump in the White House. The political environment has changed drastically, too.

As we head full-on into the primary season, we are rich in candidates for the Democratic nomination. There are plenty of good ones in the mix, to be sure. There are a few clinkers, but they'll not move up from their position at the bottom of the pack, I'm sure. There are a few who stand out as leaders in the race at this early stage.

Some of us have picked a favorite, of course, but over 40% of DUers have not. There's no clear winner of the nomination yet. That's how it should be at this point, I think. I'm listening and watching several potential nominees, despite having a photo of Joe Biden at the bottom of my posts.

We'll see who rises to the top as the months pass, leading up to the primaries and caucuses in each of our states. We'll each decide who to vote for in those primaries and caucuses. Then, after the convention, we'll all come together to support our party's nominee and to work hard to campaign and get out the vote in our own precincts, districts, and states.

That's how it is supposed to work, anyhow. I hope it works just like that. It's up to all of us to make that happen.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

5. Policy? His Anti-Trump campaign opener.

His plan to return to the American Idea. I'll be listening to hear the rest. I'm listening to the other candidates, too. How about you?

9. You know, no, it doesn't sound like that at all.

Did you watch the video? I'm not really interested in an argument in this thread. That's not what it's about at all. You'd know that if you actually read what I posted.

15. Sorry, your post sounded like you were gung ho...

I'm interested in what draws people to their candidates. It seems it's a lot of fluff and videos and not issues. I wish it was issues. I wish more people could validate their candidate with facts and not emotions.

Again, I'm sorry.

helps students, helps student loan holders. I want an EPA that takes on polluters. If that is a problem for some, they are the problem

23. No, it's the "return" language, as if there was some magic back then. It's the MAGA thing with a ...

different memory. I don't remember any American idea. It keeps changing every 4 or 8 years depending which party is in power. The only thing that seems to unite us is a war, and that's pretty sad. Although, as tRump's approval ratings continue to fall, perhaps he might be the great uniter after all, against him.

Again, I've got nothing against Joe and I'll gladly vote for him if he's the nominee. I just don't look forward to seeing those same people running the cabinet positions as in the past. Wall Street watching over Wall Street doesn't work.

28. We have many, many fences to mend.

Biden has history & established relationships with the allies Trump has offended. Even with his flaws, Biden is a known factor to many. There might be an advantage to that.

I can't imagine in the privacy of a voting booth that Lindsey Graham would vote for Trump over Biden. That may be the case with many old-time republicans who look at the party & go WTF?

for those who've never known anything but the destructive propulsion of a conservative era. I hate our grandchildren becoming aware at a time when massive right-wing corruption, nationalism and venality dominate not just our government but so much of business and other institutions.

14. I'm very excited by our candidates and I love Joe Biden

It's funny, on one crazy forum I was accused of ONLY liking HRC because I refused to embrace BS early on. And because I joked about voting with my vagina.

Now, if BS was the nominee, I would vote for him, but this time, I really like Biden the best. I like all our other Dem candidates too, but I think Biden has the best chance against Rump. And I loved his declaration video.

Oh Yeah.

16. I like Biden as well.

I think he understands what the job is about and what needs to be done right off the bat after Trump is gone.

I'm sure he's going to detail the specifics in upcoming appearances and announcements. I thought his campaign opening video was pretty damned good.

It's still a long time before the convention and there's lots of stuff to listen to as the primary campaign goes on.

DU asked me who I'd vote for if I was voting today. Today, that's Joe Biden. But, I don't vote today. I vote on March 3, 2020. I'll make a final decision before then.

21. The single most important idea in this coming election: We must pick our strongest candidate.

We must win..Our candidate must win to save this country. Trump is an embarrassment to the U.S.A. and the world. Trump is a Liar and Con Man. The election will be in 18 months. We need to stay sharp and do the work that you talked about. Most important:.................................

.. "Then, after the convention, we'll all come together to support our party's nominee and to work hard to campaign and get out the vote in our own precincts, districts, and states. ".......................................
.........................That's it. That's all..
