I love her presence, which is extremely commanding every time she walks into a room. But I never really hear anything solid when she speaks. I am very tired of hearing her say that she wants to have a conversation about something. After the conversation, then what? Then will she propose something? Will she refer the matter to Congress? Will she form some sort of committee to further investigate and have even more conversations? I want to hear something solid in the way of policy. I do love the way Elizabeth Warren comes up with actual answers and has the courage to state her positions and not hedge on the questions.

for not "admitting they are WRONG" when they ask you for the location of this alleged retort.

Just admit again that you were wrong and move on... there's no shame in it. It's not like you're fooling anybody.

Argument by Dismissal:
An argument is rejected without saying why. The person who is rejecting the argument may have a good reason; they just refuse to share it. So we cannot assume that this is an error in reasoning. It could better be described as a conscious choice not to participate in the argument.

Thu Apr 25, 2019, 06:14 PM
Apr 2019

The 1988 presidential campaign of Joe Biden, the longtime Democratic United States Senator from Delaware and eventual 47th Vice President of the United States, began in June 1987. He ran for President of the United States in the 1988 United States presidential election. He was considered one of the potentially strongest candidates in the field. However, in September 1987, newspaper stories stated he had plagiarized a speech by British politician Neil Kinnock. Other allegations of past law school plagiarism and exaggerating his academic record soon followed. Biden withdrew from the race later that month.

During the campaign, Biden focused on his plan to achieve political success in the Iraq War through a system of federalization. He touted his record in the Senate as the head of several congressional committees and experience in foreign policy. Despite a few notable endorsements, Biden failed to garner significant support in opinion polls, and was marred by controversial comments made while campaigning. He ultimately dropped out of the race on January 3, 2008, after coming in fifth place and capturing less than 1% of the vote in the Iowa caucus.[4]

He dropped out of both, so technically he never lost those two. That is prob what they are talking about.

Thu Apr 25, 2019, 06:52 PM

from the 2008 presidential primary campaign after all that evidence of plagerism and exaggerations came to light, as you pointed to, then technically he didn't lose that primary race.

In my view, however, once you declare you're in the Democratic Party's primary campaign for president and don't WIN, then you lost that primary campaign. Same thing happened when Obama won the 2008 primary race... Biden declared his candidacy and, then, like other candidates, he had to withdraw due to his dismal showing, and so he LOST that 2008 primary campaign.

Now, if they want to disagree because of the circumstances of Biden's loss in those primary races, FINE... just don't pretend that I didn't make a case why Joe Biden lost in two Democratic primary campaigns for President.

I can envision Biden making a deal after Super Tuesday and being the presumptive nominee. Harris running second or third in delegates. They make the deal and bring all contenders on board at a unity rally. Now, I'll admit Bernie Sanders needs to be in the mix. Whether he gets something big in the administration or a commitment to an issue dear to him. I fully expect that to be a sticking point, if we ever get to the point that I'm predicting.

The biggest sticking point in a Biden-Harris ticket is Dianne Feinstein. She and Kamala hate each other and Feinstein endorsed Biden before he declared.

The common denominator to all of this is Trump. Can we all get together to defeat him and then fight each other after?

If, as I suspect, the Biden-Harris ticket has the strength to get to a majority of delegates, Sanders and Feinstein will need to bury their hatchets for the good of America.

But, there are several combinations that I think could win, including Harris-Biden.

Lets see what happens in the primaries next year. Lots can happen between now and then.

I think Trump & Pence would have a hard time going up against them.

There was chatter on MSNBC the other day...not the first time I've heard it...about Trump dumping Pence and running with Nikki Haley.

Then they mentioned that she has been "critical of him on occasion."

OOOPS.

125. Biden's got intelligence, empathy, experience, honesty. He's the Anti-Trump.

A vast majority of Americans are sick to death of the daily in-your-face corruption, chaos and unbridled insanity that is the Trump family and complicit Republicans. They’ve got some serious nerve to subject the country to the crazed and hurtful whims emitted from the pitifully twisted “mind” of such a dangerous buffoon.

Joe Biden is the complete opposite of 45, in every way. He’s time-tested; and he’s “pre-disasterized” in that his past goof-ups are known, so there are no surprises down the road. He looks for the good in others, and yeah, his empathy has been “touchy-feely” at times, both with women and men. But unlike 45, I take Joe at his word that he’ll be more mindful of that.

I understand the longing for a younger, more progressive candidate— and in normal, average circumstances, I’d probably support such a person. But clearly, America has been pushed radically off course, both at home and in relations with other countries. My sense is that Biden is best qualified, both in temperament and experience, to lead a 45-damaged country in a return to normalcy, as a first step.

The one hitch I have in supporting Biden, is that, should he emerge on top, he’d make a grave mistake if he didn’t share the ticket with a younger, more progressive candidate, ideally a woman, who’d be positioned to play a much bigger role than the usual veep, with the idea in mind that Joe may only have one term in him.

All food for thought, while it’s still very early in the game. The best thing is, there are several really terrific Democrats who’ve announced. Whatever happens, there’s little chance of producing a weak candidate.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
