Bernie plays ball: Three generations of Sanders join impromptu neighborhood baseball game

When the baseball team scheduled to play against Bernie Sanders’ grandson, Dylan, on Monday didn’t show up due to weather concerns, the Democratic presidential candidate went to bat.

Sanders joined his son Dave as well as coaches and other parents to put together an impromptu lineup and take on the kids team, according to Jane O'Meara Sanders, wife of the Vermont senator.

O'Meara Sanders described the game as, “two hours of fun and laughter,” in an email to the Burlington Free Press.

Despite clouds that threatened rain and a no-show team, the three generations of Sanders played through.
