She the People is hosting the first-ever Presidential candidate forum focused on women of color. Women of color are critical organizers and the core constituency that delivered big wins in the midterms. This forum will focus the nation on the issues important to women of colorissues of racial, economic, gender, and social justice.
When and where does the forum take place?
Wednesday, April 24, 2019, 1 - 4 PM CT
Granville M. Sawyer Auditorium, Texas Southern University, Houston, Texas
We will invite declared candidates for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. The candidates will appear on stage one-by-one for a seated conversation. The forum will focus on issues central to the lives and communities of women of colorracial, economic, gender, and social justice issues.
The auditorium will host over 1,000 women of color, including elected officials and candidates, movement leaders, political strategists, and voters from Texas and other swing states. Audience members will submit questions for consideration. The She the People audience will have strong representation from women of color of all ages, sexual orientations, religions, and ethnicities.

More than 500 African-American Mayors from large cities and fast-growing communities will converge on Houston for the African Americans Mayors Association (AAMA) Conference taking place April 24-26 at the Hilton Americas. AAMA empowers local leaders for the benefit of their citizens.
The annual conference will bring Black mayors, Fortune 500 business leaders and other leaders to Houston for what organizers say will be a dynamic and inspiring event.
This is the first time the conference will be hosted outside of the Washington, D.C. area.
