Description

The SC Legislative Black Caucus invites you to a town hall meeting to discuss issues affecting people in the Upstate, featuring special guest Senator Bernie Sanders!

Rep. Rosalyn Henderson-Myers, Sen. Karl Allen, Rep. Chandra Dillard, Rep. Leola Robinson-Simpson, and Rep. Anne Parks will lead the program, which will focus on education and criminal justice reform, including the expungement process.

The Education Reform panel will include: Sherry East, President of the South Carolina Education Association; Dr. Russell Booker, the Superintendent of Spartanburg School District 7; and Glenda Morrison Fair, member of the Board of Trustees for Greenville County Schools, representing Area 23.

The Criminal Justice Reform panel will include: Tony Liebert, Assistant Solicitor for the 7th Circuit; Dr. Samantha Hauptman, USC Upstate Criminal Justice Department Chair; and Senator Karl Allen.

Additionally, this event will highlight the expungement process, and there will be assistance on-site for those seeking to expunge their record.
