Different is OK (tear-inducing alert)

I wasn't sure whether I should put this in music appreciation or not.....but I came across this video from a Coldplay concert in Mexico City. A young man with autism was very into their music and wrote a song "Different is OK" and performed it with them at their concert. It is absolutely amazing and heartwarming

Going to Denver soon

For a work training. I'll have half of one day on my own (with daylight) and want to see as much nature/cool stuff as possible. I'd kind of like to see the Red Rocks amphitheater (cuz I like U2 ) but any advice from anyone who lives near there/been there? I've never been there. It will be in February.

I won't have a car, but was thinking about renting one that day (the day I get in) to hit the road running.

I will have late afternoons/evenings to explore the city as well.

Any suggestions?

A-Hole from TX on Erin Burnett

Troy Nehls (I had never heard of him) was just on Erin Burnett's show on CNN and called her "young lady" before starting a rant about how McCarthy would start MAGA legislation once he's elected, etc. etc.

When she asked him about the "young lady" comment, he said that "of course" he meant it as a compliment and that he was happy to have his first interview on the "Clinton News Network."

These people are such complete a-holes and they can't miss an opportunity to prove it.

To her credit, after noting that she found him to be "rude," she would treat him with respect and thanked him for his time.

Toad the Wet Sprocket--Good Intentions

I was only familiar with a couple of their songs--Fall Down was my favorite--but I started checking them out a bit and they have SO MANY GOOD SONGS! They made songs that I had heard but didn't know they made. I love re-discovering a band and diving in a little deeper. This is one that I wish I had paid more attention to.

Interesting Factoid from Steelers-Raiders Game

Carr missed a wide-open WR (Renfrow) on a pass late in the game that got intercepted--sealing the win for the Steelers.

The ball left his hand at 32 seconds and was intercepted at the Steelers' 32 yard line by Cam Sutton.

Coincidence?

Faux News Visit

I stopped in to Faux News for a second. At first kellyanne Conway was blaming other Republican senators for not stumping for Walker, saying he would have easily won had they done that. Laura ingraham was blaming Republican consultants.

Now Tucker Carlson is pretty much all in on Hunter Biden and how he is cashing in on his father's position in government. Wondering how Joe Biden could live in a sprawling mansion in Greenville Delaware on a government salary (he bought a fixer-upper) blah blah blah

Once again:. What were Jared & Ivanka & the boys' qualifications and why did the Saudis hook up Jared?

Delaware population reaches 1 million

[link:https://www.wrde.com/news/delaware-population-breaks-one-million/article_5b5fe22e-5ab3-11ed-9e9c-133d64b50948.html|

The Bureau says that this is up from April 2020, where they placed the population around 990,000, and is up nearly 100,000 from 2010, when the population was around 898,000.

So it was not my imagination....traffic *is* worse

Mellencamp live: Pink Houses 1992

I watched this on ABC at the time and was enthralled....hard to find decent clips (this one is a little out of sync) but there is a full-length concert video on YouTube. But the 3+ minutes of music from 2:21 on is an absolutely amazing example of Mellencamp and band at their live best!

20 hour road trip to Kansas with 2 cats and a dog

Helped a friend drive from Delaware to Kansas over the weekend with two ragdoll cats and a golden retriever. The dog was fine, but the cats let their dislike of car travel be known throughout the trip. Plus, there was the "essence of litter box" to deal with. There has GOT to be a better way to move cats.

We stayed at a La Quinta (in Effingham) and it was great. All packed up and ready to leave, we couldn't find the girl cat. My friend was about to blame me for letting her slip out, but we called the front desk to report the situation and the lady who answered the phone assured us that the cat was not missing---and that we should check under the sink vanity, which has a hidden shelf underneath it. I checked and darned if she wasn't in there. The clerk said that it happens a lot--with people calling in a panic.

Once in Salina, we ended up lying on our backs in a cemetery looking at stars. But that's a long story for another time.

We all made it, although I was covered in enough dog & cat hair to look like Chewbacca when I emerged from the Subaru.
