Richard Mellon Scaife, Influential U.S. Conservative, Dies at 82

By ROBERT D. McFADDENJULY 4, 2014

Richard Mellon Scaife, the Pittsburgh philanthropist and reclusive heir to the Mellon banking fortune, whose support for right-wing causes laid the foundations for America’s modern conservative movement and fueled the 1998 impeachment of President Bill Clinton, died on Friday at his home in Pittsburgh. He was 82.

His death was confirmed by his lawyer, H. Yale Gutnick. Mr. Scaife had announced recently in a front-page article in the The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, a newspaper he owned, that he had an untreatable form of cancer.

Decades before David and Charles Koch bankrolled right-wing causes, Mr. Scaife and Joseph Coors, the beer magnate, were the leading financiers of the conservative crusade of the 1970s and ’80s, seeking to reverse the liberal traditions of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal and Lyndon B. Johnson’s Great Society.

Series Finale of Californication

I liked that show but their final season stunk.... They introduced a schleppy son, ditched the daughter until the very end, and made most of the last episodes about Marcy & her dipshit ex husband..

They should have just canceled it and left us all to make up our own ending...

Sometimes writers do not know how to end a series.

People complained about The Sopranos, but I thought it was the perfect ending

Since Hobby Lobby is such a christian, child friendly place,

I am wondering what their policies are:

Do they offer free/cheap on premises child care?
Do they offer fully paid maternity care?
Do they offer paid maternity leave?
Do they offer flex-time for proper child rearing?
Do they offer higher pay scales for mothers?

or

are they just another cheapskate company that only looks to use the labor of stressed out Moms who are juggling home/family on cheapskate wages and few benefits, while the Green family pats themselves on the back for being family-friendly/good Christians??
