Chris Hayes Wins MSNBC's Only News & Documentary Emmy

Chris Hayes Wins MSNBC's Only News & Documentary Emmy

All In With Chris Hayes won MSNBC’s only Emmy last night at the 36th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards in the Outstanding News Discussion and Analysis category for Fifty Year War: The Changing Face Of Poverty In America. It was the first Emmy win for Hayes’ program.

In July, Hayes may have gotten a last minute reprieve when his ratings-challenged primetime program nabbed that cable news network’s only two nominations for a News & Docu Emmy (the second nom went to the show’s All In America: A New Frontier In Women’s Healthcare).
That morning’s noms announcement had come on the eve of what sources were describing as an all-hands-on-deck town hall meeting with staffers called by Andy Lack, Chairman of NBC News and MSNBC. At that gathering Lack was expected to hint at lineup overhaul plans, as he looked to pull that network out of the ratings cellar.

Thank goodness our 2761 mile trip through washington state is OVER

We went to rule out places we would not want to live, and of course I got whooping cough 1 day into the trip..coughed myself silly... (and of course stayed clear of most people) We spent most of the time driving driving driving..

By the end of the two weeks, my breathing was so compromised that I used a wheelchair at the airport (first time ever ..)

We have narrowed the home search to Longview/Kelso/Chehalis/Centralia/Montesano/Elma/Ellensburg/Shelton/Belfair..and if necessary Yakima..

When our house sells, we will go back but the trip will be mercifully short then

Washington is still as beautiful as ever

The day after our son picked us up at the Oakland airport he left on his MEGA business trip..:

SFO-LHR-FRA-TLL-HEL-TLL-FRA-SIN-SAR-ORD-BOS-BNA-MIA-SJO-DFW-PHX-SFO

He will not be sleeping in his own bed until Nov 10th..

and most of our kitties are still snubbing us for having left them ..

The left-leaning fundraising site GoFundMe has declined to accept a fundraising campaign for jailed Rowan County, Kentucky, clerk Kim Davis.

Davis was jailed on Thursday for defying a federal court order to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples following the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges in June. She was ordered detained for contempt of court and later rejected a proposal to allow her deputies to process same-sex marriage licenses that could have prompted her release. She has become the symbol of religious opposition to the heavy-handed tactics of the “gaystapo” who are ramming same-sex marriage through at the federal level across the nation in opposition of religious conservatives.

Supporters attempted to initiate a GoFundMe campaign for her defense, but were thwarted by the site’s Terms and Conditions, which were updated on April 29 to specify the site can choose not to allow “campaigns in defense of formal charges or claims of heinous crimes, violent, hateful, sexual or discriminatory acts.”
