Where is the leader that will stand up to this dictator?

We do not have the time, unfortunately, to wait a month for hearings to begin. Democrats must act in a more urgent manner, in my opinion.

The question must be asked: Are the Republicans standing with Donald Trump? We can only assume that they stand unanimously behind him.

The first person to go jail should be Don McGahn if he does not adhere...

...to the subpoena from the Congress.

He is no longer connected to the White House in any way and has no reason to disobey the subpoena.

They should send him the message. There is no executive privilege.

Be on time.

Trump is challenging Congress and the laws of this country.

Maybe this is the appropriate time for a censure?

The Congress cannot permit anyone to ignore the laws and the requests of the Congress. They cannot fold on this issue.

They are showing a tremendous amount of patience up to this point.

At some point, they must show people that they are serious about protecting our Constitution and the laws of this country.

If subpoenas are ignored, they must be ready to hold these people in contempt. If necessary, they must be ready to put them under arrest until they are ready to cooperate.

They must be ready to impeach the Attorney General if he cannot hold people to laws of this country.

It is not meant to resolve these types of lawlessness thru elections. The officials sworn to do their jobs must do their jobs.

It is a time to stand up for law and order. This is no place for the faint-hearted or weak-willed.

We should not put a lot of stock into impeachment polls...

The latest shows only 34% support impeachment.

We should not give them a lot of credibility because they are being manipulated. Republicans have gone full throttle to convince Democrats that it would be a bad thing for them if they were to impeach? As if they are concerned about what is bad for the Democrats?

The polls for impeachment had previously been 39%. So the more evidence that comes forward that there should be impeachment, the lower the polls go for impeachment?

I think a lot of Democrats are being manipulated by this propaganda.

Just my opinion.

By their silence, Republicans are betraying our Constitution and are complicit in the lawlessness..

...that is exhibited by this White House.

Either they do not believe the facts that were uncovered by the Mueller Report, or they simply do not care? Because they know that no one will hold them accountable. Republican voters may as well be mindless robots. They have lost the ability to think. They are betraying our country, each and every one of them.

Our country was attacked, right down to our county government levels, and the Republicans refuse to defend our country?

God help them if the people ever wake up.

Who do you want Congress to interview after Mueller and McGahn??

I think Jeff Sessions' interview could get very interesting.

"What exactly did Trump say to you that made you threaten to resign, Senator Sessions?"

"Do you feel you did the right thing by not doing what AG Barr did, ending the investigation and declaring there was no collusion and no obstruction?"

Hope Hicks might be a very interesting witness, also.

They should go thru every person that Mueller interviewed and get them to verify their comments they made to the Special Counsel, in my opinion.

McConnell: 'Time to move on' from Trump impeachment talk

https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/440068-mcconnell-time-to-move-on-from-trump-impeachment-talk

<snip>
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Monday hit back at calls from some Democrats to start impeachment proceedings against President Trump, saying it's "time to move on."

"Well, look, I think it's time to move on. This investigation was about collusion, there's no collusion, no charges brought against the president on anything else, and I think the American people have had quite enough of it," McConnell told reporters in Kentucky, according to NBC News.

McConnell is one of 14 GOP senators, some of whom were members of the House at the time, who in 1998 either voted to either impeach or convict then-President Clinton on obstruction charges.

The conventional wisdom is that impeachment will help Trump.

But I don't understand exactly how it would help Trump and the Republicans??

It seems to me that if Trump was impeached, it would increase Democratic turnout.

Trump's base is going to turn out, if there is impeachment or not. I don't see where he increases his vote totals?

Perhaps someone can explain how this would work?

Is there a "silent majority" out there just waiting for a reason to vote for Donald Trump?

Trumpsters do not believe the Mueller Report...

Trump called it "bullshit". He still calls it a "witch hunt" and a "hoax". His supporters believe him over Robert Mueller.

Now, they want to start another investigation to investigate the investigators. They are very good at distracting and confusing the issue. They question the folks that persuaded the Federal judges, in approving FISA warrants, for people like Carter Page.

How do you persuade these people to believe Robert Mueller over Donald Trump? Is it possible?

In my opinion, the Democrats could turn the table on that strategy by investigating the investigator themselves. They could promote the idea that they need to verify the information that is in the Mueller Report. It is too shocking to simply ignore. It would not be wise to follow the Republican advice to just "move on". If the Mueller Report is true, our national security is threatened.

The American people have a need to know if the Mueller Report is true. The Congress should question all the people that Mueller interviewed for his report to verify the facts. The facts have to be accepted over politics.

That is why the investigation must continue.

Here is a way Democrats can frame the Mueller Report if they decide to not impeach at this time:

Because impeachment, as most critics say, will likely not end in any conviction in the Senate. It is simply an indictment by the House. But, it would help to inform and educate the voters before the next election.

So we are back to "framing":

The Mueller Report is a very disturbing document that must be addressed.

The Democrats should declare that they cannot, and will not, impeach Donald Trump until the Mueller Report has been verified as legitimate? It would only be fair to Donald J Trump.

In order to verify the Report, the House should call all the witnesses quoted in the Mueller Report before the Congress to validate their comments to the Special Counsel. It is only fair.

They can start with Robert Mueller and Don McGahn. They can work their way down the list with Hope Hicks, Rince Preibus, and Jeff Sessions. And call each person mentioned in the Report before the Committees to testify to their comments to the Special Counsel, including Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

This will assure the public, both Democrats and Republicans, that the procedure is fair and is looking to get the facts.

We would hope that America would agree with us.

=======================

I think this is one way the Democrats can handle this dilemma if they are not going to impeach. The odds are that once the facts in the Mueller Report are "verified, people will be clamoring for impeachment.
