"Unless you are willing to take it all the way..."

"Don't get off the f@#king boat!"

When the Democrats finally decide what to do about the criminal in the White House, they have to be ready to take it all the way.

In Apocalypse Now, the movie, they run into a large tiger in the jungle. As they frantically rush back to their boat, the "Chef" is heard repeating over and over...

"Don't ever get off the f@#king boat..."

Unprecedented

Everyone is debating about what should be done about the high crimes and misdemeanors of Donald J Trump?

They are looking at examples of the past to guide them.

Unfortunately, there are no examples that fit the present law-breaking or the smashing of norms.

Because it has never happened before. The crimes are being committed in broad daylight and portrayed as something totally innocent.

The Congress and the citizenry must look at it from a new perspective. It is unprecedented. We are working in new territory. We must come up with new solutions.

"I'd do it again"...

This was a reported quote by Donald Trump on the chyron of MSNBC or CNN after his interview by George Stepanopolous.

If this is an actual quote, he is saying that he has done it before. Otherwise, he would not say that he would "do it again".

Was he saying this to cover for his son, Don Jr, who testified behind closed doors today? Did Don Jr admit to taking dirt on Hillary Clinton?

This is quite an admission!

He, "alone", can do all these things. He has so stated.

The battle between Pelosi and impeachment

Speaker Pelosi finds herself in sort of a predicament. There is an increasing demand for impeachment from her caucus. She does not feel that the time is right.

She is not specifically against impeachment but she does not think it wise at this time. She believes that there needs to be more evidence and more justification before they jump into the fire.

The degree of obstruction and the constant breaking of norms is unprecedented. Congress is not accustomed to a White House that challenges subpoenas the way this White House does. They are challenging the very rule of law.

Speaker Pelosi wants the Courts to validate Congress' rights under the balance of powers in our Constitution. There is no guarantee that they will.

But, in my opinion, Speaker Pelosi believes this is a process that we must go thru before they light the fuse.

Chris Matthews is a real Debbie Downer....

He acts as if he can just snap his fingers and the problem is solved?

What's the next move for Nadler's Committee?

Since they cannot get any of the witnesses that they need, what do they do next?

Is it possible for these witnesses to ignore subpoenas and contempt charges without any repercussions?

Yesterday was an attempt to educate the people about the Mueller report. How successful was it?

The Courts will eventually have to decide if the Congress has a right to oversight and if these subpoenas are a legitimate exercise? However, justice delayed is justice denied. They should be on a fast track if the balance of powers is to remain intact.

Congress has the power if they choose to use it.

There is an old saying: Use it or lose it.

Education is good.

The Judiciary hearing today was mainly meant to educate the public on the Mueller Report. It was obvious that the Republicans did not want to talk about the Report, but instead, chose to attack the witnesses, especially John Dean.

It was also obvious that not much is going to be accomplished by the Committee unless they get the witnesses that they have subpoenaed.

They have no choice but to send it to the Courts at this time.

The partisanship and the division are so great that unless there is a smoking gun or a witness willing to tell the truth, the Committees are only spinning their wheels.

However, they can still continue to educate.

The partisanship and the division are so great...

...that when Joyce Vance, Barbara McQuade, and John Dean appear before the Committee today, that many will accuse them of being liberal and Democrat, because they have all been guests on, or work for, MSNBC or CNN. Many will probably block it out? It is part of their partisan training. They will be unable to hear historical facts and evidence, because of that partisan training.

In my opinion, it would be a good time for America to listen, and attempt to hear if there is anything "new" there, or if, what is already gathered is more than sufficient evidence of some sort of wrong-doing? We should all have open minds during these hearings, in my opinion. Otherwise, we will be going down the wrong path.

Just my opinion.

Peace.

When compromise is impossible.

Normally, compromise can be the most favorable outcome in many situations.

However, there are some situations where "compromise" cannot succeed, in my opinion.

We should never accept as "normal", situations that we know are false, misleading, or simply wrong. It would lead us to a worse place, in many opinions.

In those situations, where our deepest beliefs and principles are challenged, we must stand our ground.

The question about impeachment is one of those situations, in my opinion. It would be "wrong" not to indict Donald Trump. An impeachment is similar to an indictment. Perhaps, rather like a grand jury?

This is a time that Congress will need to follow their consciences.

Donald Trump is a criminal.

No amount of bullshit, no amount of lies, no amount of excuses, can change that simple fact.

No amount of blaming others can make it go away.

His lies about "deep state", about "fake news", about people "out to get him", do not change the basic facts.

His "walls" and his "deals" are nothing more than distractions from his criminality and his incompetence.

He is full of bullshit and he is very good at spreading it around.

Some people buy it. Some people don't.

It is what it is.
