Rain, by WWI Poet Edward Thomas

Rain, midnight rain, nothing but the wild rain
On this bleak hut, and solitude, and me
Remembering again that I shall die
And neither hear the rain nor give it thanks
For washing me cleaner than I have been
Since I was born into solitude.
Blessed are the dead that the rain rains upon:
But here I pray that none whom once I loved
Is dying tonight or lying still awake
Solitary, listening to the rain,
Either in pain or thus in sympathy
Helpless among the living and the dead,
Like a cold water among broken reeds,
Myriads of broken reeds all still and stiff,
Like me who have no love which this wild rain
Has not dissolved except the love of death,
If love it be towards what is perfect and
Cannot, the tempest tells me, disappoint.

-And yes, he died in those fields...

Pelosi needs to make it clear: touch Mueller, impeachment starts in January

Time to stare the aged orang down.

Impeachment would insure that the full investigation comes out at trial in the Senate, then dare Senators to vote for Trump.

Bigfoot Erotica Writer Republican Goes to Congress (not the Onion)

Meanwhile, from the WTF file:

Republican Denver Riggleman — a man who once wrote a book titled Mating Habits of Bigfoot and Why Women Want Him — just beat out Democratic challenger Leslie Cockburn (Olivia Wilde’s mom) for the U.S. House of Representatives in Virginia’s Fifth Congressional District seat. The district has historically voted Republican. In what has to be the strangest race in the midterms, Riggelman beat Cockburn by seven points, according to the New York Times... https://www.thecut.com/2018/11/denver-riggleman-wins-his-congressional-race-virginia-midterms.html?utm_source=fb&utm_campaign=nym&utm_medium=s1&fbclid=IwAR1P_Szs6w8nVNLtGATlPoevQQkoycHJgzsxMTOPVzRx81CkGjauTR9g5bE

Trump Calls Himself a Nationalist

"You know, they have a word. It sort of became old-fashioned. It's called a nationalist," he continued. "And I say, 'Really, we're not supposed to use that word?' You know what I am? I'm a nationalist. ... Use that word."

not even pretending any more

MSM Needs to Investigate Whether Republican Dark Money is Paying for the 'Caravan'

It seems waaaay to convenient?

Note, Republican media (which I won't post links to here) have tried to link them to Soros, which says to me they are trying to hide something now...

Time to Consider the Direct Election of the Supreme Court

Yes, it would take a Constitutional Amendment, but hear me out. The advise and consent power has become partisan outside of any democratic process. We the people, quite literally, don't get a say. Imagine some of the possibilities:

-Expand the number of Justices
-Direct popular vote in non-partisan races the first November after a vacancy emerges.
-Retention votes every 4 years on Presidential cycle for all justices.
-limitations on age, before the bar, etc.

The Supreme Court was designed to be Conservative and elitist. Can we please to away with this non-democratic institution already?

Stagnant wages and rapid inflation on tap next

That will eventually lead to a business cycle recession. Will be big if all those high percentage, long term expensive car loans, and hyper-inflated real estate loans go South. Then, it's all about exposure...

Inflation/stagflation 12-24 months

Recession next 24-36 months...

Qatar is a serious Crisis

Similar to the Saudi invasion of Bahrain during the Arab Spring. The GCC (KSA and UAE mainly) are inching closer to invading Qatar. Reading Gulf papers, I have never before seen the kind of things that are going on.

It is also important for Americans and.those of us on the left to understand while the Qatari's are no angels, the Saudis beef with Qatar is essentially that they refuse to actively support the dictator Sisi in Egypt and refuse to kill AL Jazeera.

Trump is supporting his new BFF the Saudis in all of this nonsense despite the fact our main regional military base is in Qatar. It will also come as little shock that the Russians will benefit heavily strategically and monetrarity from the chaos. Europe will become more dependent on Russian NG. Plus, chaos will drive energy prices north.

I would put the odds at 50/50 the GCC will invade Qatar.

EV, PHEV, and Hybrid Car Owners Check-in

How do you like your car?

I have been driving my 2011 Volt for a month now and absolutely love it. Our other family car is a 2013 Prius, but for driving enjoyment you really can't compare the two.

My Volt is #2512
