Home confinement for Jan. 6th traitor (guy on stairs). Thought he was in the White House.

Trump rioter, QAnon supporter Douglas Austin Jensen thought he invaded White House, not Capitol, video shows

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/07/13/trump-rioter-douglas-austin-jensen-thought-he-invaded-white-house-not-capitol.html

One of the most notorious defendants charged in the Jan. 6 riot by Trump supporters thought that he and other rioters had invaded the White House, not the U.S. Capitol, newly released video reveals.

“This is me touching the f------ White House, this is why we’re here,” bragged Douglas Austin Jensen as he was on the Capitol grounds, according to a selfie video from his own cellphone that day.

Jensen’s lack of awareness about where he actually was played a role in the decision Tuesday by Washington federal court Judge Timothy Kelly to release Jensen after six months in jail into home confinement in Iowa.

After pushing inside, he led an enraged mob that chased Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman through hallways in the Capitol complex as the cop lured them away from the Senate chamber.

Hannity's "question" to Lara Trump. Yes this is what Fox viewers see. 🤪

SEAN HANNITY (HOST): Now, when they backdoor mandating vaccines, Lara, isn't that really them supporting mandating vaccines?

LARA TRUMP (FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR): Well, it certainly seems like it. Look, I mean, you've just laid out so much important information. This has never, Sean, been about following the science. It's never been about following the facts and the truth. It's been about control from day one. Remember, it was 14 days to slow the spread. That's how this started and now here we are mandating, apparently, that people get a vaccine.

Video at link.

Va. GOP's Youngkin debate excuse - 11 year old $250 donation by moderator

Youngkin to skip marquee debate over moderator’s donation to Clinton Bush Haiti Fund

https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/virginia-politics/youngkin-skip-debate-judy-woodruff/2021/07/12/8311282c-e355-11eb-8aa5-5662858b696e_story.html

RICHMOND — Republican Glenn Youngkin will skip what is typically the premier debate of the Virginia governor's race, saying he objects to the moderator, PBS NewsHour host Judy Woodruff, because she once donated $250 to the Clinton Foundation's Haitian earthquake relief fund.

By refusing to square off with Democrat Terry McAuliffe at the Virginia Bar Association debate later this month, the political newcomer and former Carlyle Group executive is breaking with a 36-year tradition. Every aspiring Virginia governor has participated in the VBA debate since 1985.

Woodruff donated $250 in 2010 to the foundation’s Haitian earthquake relief program, at the time led by two former presidents — Democrat Bill Clinton and Republican George W. Bush. Its formal name was the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. Woodruff has moderated several VBA debates for governor and U.S. Senate in the years since.

“Judy’s donation to the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund was in response to bipartisan call by fmr prezs Clinton & George W. Bush in 2010 for relief for Haiti following devastating earthquake. Seeing it thru any other lens is completely misleading,” Just tweeted. “And it should go without saying, Judy — over the course of her distinguished career — has never donated to a politician or any political party.”

Golf in a time of COVID - Now 17 golfers are out of British Open due to COVID related reasons.

This link doesn’t have the full list but 17 golfers (these are basically self employed independent contractors) will not play this week for one of the majors.
The second link has some of the measures being taken for those who will compete. Oh and some grumbling from a couple of pros.

—————————————-

We are up to three Masters champions who have withdrawn from the British Open for coronavirus-related reasons.

Zach Johnson, who triumphed at Augusta National in 2007 before winning the British Open in 2015, was forced out of this year’s staging of the latter event after he tested positive Sunday. He joins on the sideline reigning Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama, who has been quarantining while testing positive for the virus, and Bubba Watson, the 2012 and 2014 Masters winner, who has been identified as a close contact of someone who tested positive.

Per reports, Johnson was given a coronavirus test after completing his final round at the John Deere Classic in Illinois. He learned of his result shortly before he would have boarded a charter flight to England that evening with numerous other players, as well as with caddies and other related personnel.

Golfers to face strict COVID-19 protocols at The Open

While COVID-19 restrictions are being eased across the United States, PGA Tour players who travel to The Open in England next month will face protocols and procedures more strict than any they have seen in months.

Among other things, players will not be allowed to share accommodations and will be required to undergo COVID-19 testing, regardless of vaccination status. They will not be allowed to visit restaurants, pubs or grocery stores -- all of which have been allowed for months at PGA Tour events in the United States.

As the word has sunk in with the players, many are learning that housing accommodations they had secured previously will not be suitable for The Open. According to the information update, they will be able to choose from a list of hotels provided by the R&A, or they can book their own private residence, but only for use by the player and team and with a maximum of four people.

Each player is permitted to bring one caddie plus two support team members. The latter can be a coach, manager, medical support or translator. Players can also choose to allow one family member to attend, but that person must already be in the U.K., have completed any quarantine requirements and must stay in the same accommodation as the player.

While my daughter was toasting her blueberry waffles 😆

She’s almost 16.

I mentioned that Don Jr. has a book out named “Liberal Privilege: Joe Biden And The Democrats’ Defense Of The Indefensible”

Me: He wrote a book about privilege
Daughter: You’ve got to write what you know.

Mom and I cracked up. 😆

"Safeguard" soap commercial with Tom Selleck, Terri Garr, and Penny Marshall. 😁

We saw this at a drive-in movie theater last night - Black Widow
They ran old commercials instead of trailers.
Apparently Tom Selleck’s first commercial. I didn’t recognize him until the end.
Terri Garr and Penny Marshall getting coffee.

"The Tomorrow War" - Question for those who've seen it

Was the one guy (third deployment) wearing a red shirt an inside joke for sci-fi fans?

My daughter brought this up while we were watching it.

"Black Widow" just saw it NO SPOILERS

We saw it at a drive in.

Wall to wall kick ass.

Back story but I’m not a comic book guy so I’m not sure if it’s true to the story. Even that was action action action.

No downtime hardly. Will see it again definitely.
I read a brief “review” of it here on DU saying that it was the movie Scarlett Johansson and the character needed. I agree.

We saw it at a drive in. 80something degrees when it started about 8:45. Cars had to be turned off. It got hot in the car so I took him for a walk for most of the movie but I could still hear the dialogue from other people’s cars - FM radio frequency.
