Always makes me feel a little better looking at her. For many reasons.

I'm proud that she represents me as America's First Lady. I'm proud and impressed and SO delighted that they'll be around for another four years!

AND it makes me really happy to think that our President has that gorgeous, brilliant, alluring, dedicated, loving, supportive, and sexy-as-hell woman to come home to at night, what with all the battering he has to take from the bad guys all day every day.

VERY pleased! Thumbs UP!!!! WAY WAY UP!!!!

That's fine. Don't need her blighting that picture - or ANY picture.

This is a GREAT photo, though. LOVE seeing Tammy Duckworth standing there! And I look at Nancy Pelosi and think - "hey, let's put the Speaker's gavel back in her capable hands! Besides, she doesn't need that pathetic big-ass oversized dick substitute to prove how strong and powerful she is. Overcompensating much, boner?

Damn. Horrible! Thank you for opening up like this. That couldn't have been easy.

The tragedy is how the system reinforced your remaining silent and others around you to be complicit and/or just plain loutish and ignorant - for so long. And we all know, unfortunately, that prevailing attitude is still alive and well to this very hour.

DISGUSTING. And a damned DISGRACE. Rape is rape. And it's a CRIME. In every sense of the word. And a SIN of the worst kind.

And even the perpetrators who are somehow brought to justice don't pay the price anywhere NEAR as long as their victims do - for the rest of their scarred, assaulted, and violated lives.

Evolution, too!!!

Slowly we turn, and grow, and minds are opened.

GREAT post, proud2BlibKansan! Really WONDERFUL!!!! This is VERY nice to see! Assholes like that NEED to be shouted down, sent away, and shunned. They've had it too good for too long, people genuflecting to them and making all kinds of room for them and excuses for them because the teabaggers and other racists SEEMED to have such power and influence. They're a bunch of paper tigers whose clout is steadily shrinking, no matter HOW loud they yell and scream and throw tantrums and otherwise act out. They're nothing more than adult-size spoiled-brat snot-noses - who are also racists. RACISTS. Shove that in their faces and jam it down their throats and laminate it to their shirtfronts and tattoo it on their foreheads with all-scarlet letters. They need to be called out on it again and again and again, and SHAMED. And made an example of.

It should start COSTING THEM to feel this way and talk this way. There should be unpleasant consequences and a price to pay for being like this. They should NOT be rewarded with reaffirmations and face-time on cable shows and radio and other ego-feedings. There should be punishment for it, NOT reinforcement.

I've found that a little mortification is good for the soul.

AND we should be trying to send "United Staters" to take over red areas, too.

I think it's time to play hardball. Seriously. This is NOT - repeat - NOT a "center-right country." NOT. The proof is in last November's election. PROOF.

And we REALLY have to jump on it at the state and local level. Look what happens when republi-CONS are allowed to run the table in the governor's mansions and state legislatures. Our Dems have dropped the ball there. Here's hoping the last year or two - in the words of the esteemed Samuel L. Jackson, "Woke Them The Fuck Up!"

Music - the universal language.

Math, too. But music also speaks to the heart as well as to the brain.

And let's CONTINUE to call this disaster what it is: Domestic Terrorism!

This is a GREAT statement, onehandle, and deserves to be on bumper stickers, posters, flyers, and protest signs EVERYWHERE, if not also in the headlines.

"Shut Down All Gun Shows! They are breeding grounds for domestic terrorism."

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!!!!

Congrats, DonRedwood!!! I really appreciated that original post of yours - it does INDEED deserve a much wider audience! It's important that MORE of this gets out. The better to reinforce some shaky people who feel this way, too, but think they're all alone out there. They need to know that they are anything BUT alone in their feelings.

Part of our problem in this country, for a LONG time, has been that ALL WE'VE BEEN HEARING since the 90s is NON-STOP CONservative claptrap, lies, distortions, misrepresentations of what it means to be a liberal, hell - they don't even respect the very name of our party! That's been going on, around the clock, on radio and then also on cable outlets like Pox Noise and CNN which scrambles to bring on as much wrong-of-center representation on camera as though they were trying to be Pox Noise Lite. That audience now, though, is dead and dying, as we've all since realized.

Data was just a FREAKIN' WUNNNNNNNDERFUL character!!!

One of my all-time favorite Next-Gen episodes was "Data's Day," which followed Data around from his getting off the overnight shift in command on the Enterprise bridge and then going about the rest of the regular day (Data didn't need to sleep. His quarters did not have a bed). So we followed him around the ship as he considered a wedding gift for Chief O'Brien and his fiancee Keiko, and tried to advise Lt. Worf on one, as he fed and petted Spot, tried to learn to dance for the wedding from Dr. Crusher ("NOBODY better find out I used to be known as the 'dancing doctor'!", and she thought he meant tap-dancing. And it went on.

It was just the sweetest, most fun, most engrossing, most enjoyable little slice-of-life episode. No phasers. No photon torpedoes. No chase scenes at Warp 8.5. No fist-fights with aliens. No explosions or time warps or quantum singularities or any such thing. Just a day-in-the-life. And it was JUST WUNNNNNDERFUL!!!

Welcome to DU, A Little Weird!

What a great thread! Glad you're here to enjoy it - and more - with us. I LOVE all things "Star Trek"! Always have, since the original series. And I was hot for Spock. I still remember the TV Guide issue whose cover story featured Mr. Spock and the question - "is it sexy to be smart?" That's because Spock had every bit as big a following as he-man sex symbol male-lead Captain Kirk, and many many women were (surprisingly to some) utterly mad for him.

I've always liked the smart ones.
