About Me

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.

Terrific collection, riversedge!

I clicked on the little hearts on all of them. Up the numbers! And followed a few more!

Indeed. Wonder if they're happy NOW?

Where was this one?

Welcome to DU, Break time!

Not that trump would care.

I'm almost blue in the face from trying to remind everybody that THIS is why you DON'T try to run the government like a business. You DON'T put a CEO in charge unless he is thoroughly schooled in how different it is than when you're the biggest big shot in the board room. You DON'T just get to say what's so and that's that. Most of what you think you want to do has to go through Congress, and plenty of other people have to weigh in, AND approve, too. You're not just a unilateral king or emperor who just dictates what should happen and it simply happens. Maybe that's how it works in the corner office suites, but it doesn't work that way in the White House.

That is THE absolute scariest poem I ever read.

That last paragraph STILL gives me chills. Ever since I first read it in high school English Lit class.

Things sure are falling apart.

Well, I just did. I'm even more horrified now.

His big thing is how to hasten "the end times."

And now he has a disciple with nukes at his disposal.

The Guardian was one of the few outlets where you could find truth in reporting about the Iraq War.

Our side of the Atlantic was a total wash-out. Everybody was kowtowing to bush/cheney. Everybody obeyed the "thou shalt not photograph or report on coffins of dead soldiers coming back from the war front" because if you did, you'd get fired.

That was one of the FIRST things then newly-inaugurated President Obama DID: he went to Dover Air Force Base in the late evening, to greet the incoming flight of flag-draped caskets. And he invited press coverage. Let's not forget that.

He's rapidly turning us into a pariah nation.

In only NINE days.

There's a Calexit move afoot.

The Twitter page is full of abusers who sneer and scoff and laugh at my state and all the "libtards" and other derisive language.

If we vote to secede, I bet they'd be laughing out the other side of their mouths when they realize WE are a donor state. Out of every $1.00 we pay in federal taxes, we only get 78 cents back. If we secede, that means we can keep our money and not have to keep propping up the red states anymore. California ranks either 5th or 6th in the economies of THE WORLD. I think we'd get by okay, even if trump tries to levy penalties against us or withhold federal funding. FUCK him.

FUCK him.

Just FUCK him.

Diversity used to be our strength, too.
