BINGO!!!

"Easy, put people who profit from its failure IN CHARGE OF IT."

That's the "Nailed It!" post of the year, corkhead!

October 2, 2014

And we as humans are physically, anatomically pre-disposed to be liberals.

How come? Because any anatomy book or simple chest Xray will demonstrate that the human heart hangs to the LEFT.

And we're extremely vulnerable, on our side, to wilting under pressure.

To getting discouraged and throwing up our hands and conceding defeat before the battle's over (or in this case, before Actual Fight Day - Election Day - arrives).

Ohhhhhhhh fuuuuuuuuuck...

I've got just one thing to say:

THIS, TOO, IS NATIONAL SECURITY.

Frankly, I think we may need to say screw ISIS, screw Israel (sorry, but THIS is a bigger priority - and it's GLOBAL, so this would - no, WILL ultimately affect Israel too), screw economic stimulus, screw EVERYTHING that IS NOT directly involved in the health sector. We need to throw EVERY DOLLAR WE CAN FIND into America's health care infrastructure. RE-INFUSE the N.I.H. and C.D.C with boatloads of bucks for research AND staffing, go hard and go heavy. PRIORITY ONE. Put us on a national "war footing" on THIS specific issue. Defy the fucking sequester rules and UN-cut the N.I.H. and C.D.C., raise taxes across the board and funnel all that money into research so that we develop vaccines and ENOUGH OF THEM so that public health is secure.

If we don't go global-thermo-nuclear on this NOW, it will spread faster and farther than our ability to contain it.

I was watching CNN and hearing the voice of the Dallas mayor, I couldn't help it.

First thing I thought was "is he a republi-CON? Because if he is, we're fucked."

Whenever you have a republi-CON in power, you're GOING TO have an individual who believes less government is better. Who believes that the first thing to do is make it smaller. Cut it back. Defund it. It's icky. Too powerful. Too intrusive. Too expensive. The old idiotic canard that always and inevitably starts with - "We Don't NEEED... And that's a prescription for mass death here. When funding is cut all over the place, staffing is cut, research is cut, because a few of us don't like paying taxes (Equals SELFISH!!!!!! And SHORTSIGHTED!!!!!!!), and we opt for the old reagan game of Penny-wise/Pound-foolish, and a situation like one of these arises (AND mind you, all three of these examples you site, vanlassie, are happening at once and there's undoubtedly more we just haven't heard about yet), it's a recipe for the worst case scenario in each case OR all of them.

There were a few people I saw interviewed in the wake of Hurricane Katrina who reluctantly began to agree that - "uh, well, I guess maybe there ARE cases where we do NEED government..." And I guarantee you, as soon as they figured the crisis had past, they forgot all about that.

Yeah, no kidding.

So frustrating. "Post-racial." I will admit, though, that when Barack Obama was elected the first time, I allowed myself to entertain the thought that maybe, Just MAYBE, America had grown up a little, and gotten over it, and moved forward. I allowed myself to celebrate what appeared to be a first-class outward sign that we'd all finally, at long last, gotten beyond the race issue. MAN was that wrong! MAN was I wrong!!! No impersonal "mistakes were made" crap outta me. I made that mistake. Got it shocked out of me within the first weeks when I saw the kind of shit that this President was forced to deal with and deep-down, the opposition (at least it seemed to me) was deeply and systemically rooted in old, shitty, evil, awful racism. Racism that's not just some leftover. Racism that is alive and well and inflamed and cancerous and seems to be spreading like the fucking Ebola virus.

It's disgusting and depressing as hell. I wanted to believe that we had FINALLY gotten beyond our systemic racism. We'd just proved it, hadn't we? A SOLID and unrefutable majority voted this man into the Presidency. Knew he was black and still voted for him. Saw and knew he was black and it didn't matter.

And we haven't.

And part of its evil genius was - it allowed them to ruin OUR brand.

It was during this time that the word "liberal" came to be completely demonized. Turned into something bad, nasty, and noxious. The kind of word that george bush senior visibly curled his lip while uttering, during one of his convention speeches. Physically curled his lip while he almost literally spat out the word liberal, as though it was some worm he bit into - in the apple he'd half-finished munching. That was all part of it. And your subliminal, unconscious takeaway from that was "eeeuwww! Liberal = bad!" It was very deliberate and conscious as hell. Psy-ops. Brainwashing. And it worked. And they were on top of it - and WE were completely unaware - while slowly and subtly being buried underneath it.

The only answer, seems to me, is to hijack that entire report and apply it - LIBERALLY - to manipulate conditions on OUR side and in OUR favor. Just jack the WHOLE thing and turn it inside-out, upside-down and 180-degrees around and make it OURS. Take their biggest and most effective weapon (the Powell Instruction Manual) and turn it AGAINST them. And shove it back down their miserable scheming throats.

Glad you liked it! LOL!

I would venture to add that even the presence of one single guard, with even an unloaded rifle, might have been at least SOME deterrent outside even ONE of those doors to the outside. Don't you suppose? There wasn't even that outside the White House! You're somehow okay with this? Where was even ONE guard with ANY visible fire-arm, loaded OR unloaded, along the path that the White House intruder took? WHERE? What about the guards that were visible at the left of your screen when that video of the intruder running across the lawn toward the building itself? They couldn't have taken off running after him and maybe intercepted him before he got inside? What was up with those two? In the video that played over and over and over, the intruder got all the way to the unlocked entrance - and where were those two guards at the kiosk over at the far left? Did they even bother to give chase? It doesn't look like it, from what I saw when I watched that video over and over. Were they overweight and unable to run? In which case, why were they stationed there, if they weren't in sufficient physical condition to be able to give chase?

I don't think it's hyperbole at all. But it's nice that you were entertained.

Well if sensible laws don't do it, Mother Nature will.

If he's got beach-front property now, in a few years it'll be underwater property. Hope he's got some water wings!

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
