If there's nothing there, then why are they still hiding it - and with such an iron grip?
No kidding! Sure does with me, too. It's one big fat deja vu all over again.
I was in college by then. Just starting to wake up, in full, about this stuff. We were all glued to the TV, and this was all that many of us were talking about.
You make a VERY good point, though, Nitram. This is not just dirty tricks and trying to screw political opponents. This involves a HOSTILE FOREIGN POWER, getting involved, deliberately and in a calculated way, intervening from OUTSIDE the system and OUTSIDE our country.
No Russians had any involvement in Watergate. Nobody from any other country did. There were NO external influences or involvements. It was all internal to US politics, and the US government. Not so here. Not at all. External meddling and intervention and intrusion into our election is not just relevant here, it's freakin' EVERYTHING here!
Uh-HUH.
Smells like "there is a cancer on the presidency..." (and it's growing bigger and more deadly every day... )
Also - the Richard Engel stuff is sounding pretty serious, too. He's reporting that it's awfully quiet re: trump in Moscow now. The Kremlin has issued what he called "a directive" to the effect of "no more trump" to its media - and whereas there was wall-to-wall trump on TV and newspapers and everywhere since his rise, and everybody was celebrating his election and how it was gonna Make Russia Great Again (he described it using those words, too), and now everybody's clammed up everywhere. Not a word. It's all about Putin and his election campaign for next year now.
MAN-OH-MAN, trump is running on tremendously thin ice if the Russians see no use for him anymore. If they think he's not turning out the way they wanted, and won't help them further their own agenda, what will they do about him? Does all that blackmail dossier stuff come into play now? Are they gonna start thinking they're going to need to put a leash on him now?
What do they do with an asset they no longer find valuable or useful?
And they thought trump was the asset straight from Heaven.
MAN this is sounding like a big-time spy novel.
Yep, yep, yep!
I saw Rachel Monday night - man-oh-man...
Friday night's show was a humdinger, too.
I've been out all afternoon, and just coming home to the Jeff Sessions update.
MAN-OH-MAN...
So did I. A slam dunk.
My husband calls her Jodyanne Jerkmeoff. And she is truly a gatling gun of deceit. INDEED a Nebelwerfer.
Michael Moore pointed that out last night during the underwhelming Chris Matthews special.
He reminded that trump is a member of the Screen Actors Guild. He has his SAG card. So he IS a good actor. All CONmen are.
Just as Rachel Maddow has pointed out before - "watch what they DO. NOT what they say." You can smooth-talk anybody. But it's what you DO that proves what your true objective was.
Btw - I was really looking forward to that "late version of 'Hardball'," but it was a big disappointment. And to add trump-lover Robert Davi in there just messed with the whole point of the show. He isn't a comedian or a humorist or anything else, except for a mediocre actor who used to be somebody. At least he only got a minute or so at the end of the show. But that meant Nancy Giles, also shoe-horned in at the end of the show, got short shrift, too.
Bill Maher should have been on Skype or something, or in some local TV studio wherever he physically was, if he couldn't be there in person. They ALL (except for Robert Davi) should have been on a panel together, THERE, IN STUDIO, for a more free-wheeling hour. Everybody looked WAY too controlled. Why didn't they invite Ron Reagan - since the theme obviously was NOT bringing in an all-comedian guest lineup the way it was implied? I'd rather have had him than Bradley Whitford, whose main claim to relevancy here was because, once upon a time, he was a regular on "The West Wing."
That show really missed the mark.
Welcome to DU, teslar!
Yep. I'd say send Ouday 2.0 and Qusay 2.0 into battle. Let them put some skin in the game.
That always bothered me about Romney, too. FIVE sons. Count 'em. FIVE. Adult. Able-bodied. Available to serve. FIVE OF 'EM. And not a single one of 'em had enlisted in the military. Of course, Daddy sure didn't either (so why should they?). And to say you "served" either "in the private sector" (WTF????? What the Fucking FUCK?????????) or because you hid out, conveniently doing missionary work - in PARIS FRANCE no less - during Vietnam, I'm sorry. That doesn't make it.
If you claim the right to be the leader whose job includes sending other people's sons and daughters into harm's way, especially if you're of the GOP (the party that seems to love shaking one's figurative dick around at the rest of the world) you damn well better have helped lift that load in your own family, too.
Welcome to DU, Synecdoche Trope!
Gee, a friend and I were just discussing spray-tanning, which she's dabbled in, strictly for special occasions. We both, simultaneously, blurted - "like trump - with the white "goggles" around his eyes all the time" and then burst out laughing.
There could be a series of these!

Welcome to DU, Sebasdad22!
Hugh Hewitt appears onscreen ...
and I'm GONE. Where's the remote? Quick! CNN. Or Weather Channel. Or Food Network.
