About Me

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.

YES. As in - be careful what you stand on. It could turn out to be a pile of dogshit.

Because if you insist on taking stands like that, you risk making yourself look like an idiot.

Another excellent reason to point out that - NO, both parties are NOT the same!!!

All you "Both sides! Both sides!" assholes take note. Both parties are NOT the same. They're NOT all alike. Just. NOT. True.

NONE. He's a smug, arrogant, cocky prick.

My husband says scalia alone is proof enough that Supreme Court Justice positions should NOT be positions for life.

WONDERFUL!!! That's just WONDERFUL, swayne!!!!

Congratulations and thank you so much for sharing this great news with us!

We ALL need stuff like this. We all need to read and share and savor news like this.

And most of all, we ALL need REMINDERS of this. Don't Give Up. You probably helped someone here or elsewhere hang on just a little bit longer, by posting this welcome and much-needed bit of encouragement.

Welcome to DU, Rabid_Rabbit!

Glad you're here. Agreed. And it's good news on two levels:

1) they're acknowledging (and clearly, accepting) the realities of a changing and evolving marketplace, and

2) they're recognizing that it DOESN'T hurt their bottom line. Evidently, they see WAY more support out there than opposition.

But you do have a point. Money trumps just about everything. And most companies cave to big pushes like this. Although... I'm not so sure homophobic objections LIKE THIS carry all that much weight anymore, at least outside the Westboro Baptist Church, that is.

I love those photos they used.

Hey, same-sex couples are here, TOO. They preside over happy and whole homes and families. They raise wonderful, happy, and well-adjusted children in an atmosphere of compassion, partnership, creative problem-solving, tolerance, and love.

And that's a bad thing - how????

The homophobes of the world just need to grow up and get over it. And realize they live in an evolving world.

Hey gohmert, the republi-CON party is as immoral as slavery.

The republi-CON party is an obscenity.

That'd work for me!

Well, there go the ol' waterworks...

This is just a WUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNderful story!

Made me happy and made me cry.

I read some of the comments. Just about every one of them spoke about crying, too. Lots of happy weepy people. We sure could use more stories like this one. Sometimes life in this country just looks so damn bleak for far too many. Especially with all the shit in the news, otherwise.

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this, Are_grits_groceries. This was a true gem! A keeper!
