About Me

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.

Love this!

You've done it again, TheFerret!

That is a SCREAM!

Literally, I'm sitting here screaming with laughter at the tweets on that page! Too many good "hold my beer" visuals...

Ironically enough, THIS came out today:

Formally announced just this morning.

OUCH!!!

Welcome to DU, Buttershrimp!

She was on the cover of a Hollywood Reporter special edition at the end of January. The cover caption was "Eight months after an anti-trump stunt torched her career, the star is holed up in her Bel Air mansion plotting a potential comeback: 'When you're a woman, you get one f-up and it's over.'"

I, too, can't wait to see her! I tuned in briefly to CNN's New Year's Eve show to see how that Andy Cohen dude and Anderson Cooper were meshing. They weren't. What was it like, watching as Cohen was attempting to replace Kathy? The word "abysmal" comes to mind. Forced and absolutely positively NOT funny. I used to LOVE tuning in to watch Kathy Griffin eat Anderson Cooper for breakfast, brunch, lunch, high tea, dinner, and a midnight snack. This new version wasn't worth even 15 minutes.

Welcome to DU, Kurt V.!

I want one, too. I was out working in the garage when the Ari Melber interview aired, and only caught the last half of it. He was on the phone with Katy Tur a couple of hours earlier, and I watched that. And I guess he's been on CNN, too. Being quite the gadabout this Nunberg dude is.

I suspect they're seriously scared because they come from trump-world.

A world where nobody gives a damn what you do as long as you're
A) on TV all the time,
B) famous as all-get-out,
C) pulling all kinds of scams and sneaky shit and double-talking double-dealing stunts, and
D) getting away with everything.

trump has skirted the edge most of his life, doing the shittiest things: stiffing contractors and subcontractors, laundering money, living beyond his means (with all those bankruptcies), and slick-talking like the true conman he is. And he's NEVER paid the price for it. He's NEVER had to face ANY consequences - of any kind. You carry on that long, under those conditions, and you begin to believe that you're never going to have to face any consequences. You'll always get away with it. You'll always get out of it. And pay nothing.

And if, indeed, this is what they're used to, and how it's gone for them so far, while in trump's orbit, NO WONDER they can start to swagger and get cocky and declare, as this turkey did today, that he's not going to jail. HAH! The HELL he isn't! He has nothing to say about it if he's going to defy the special counsel. He IS going to go to jail if he refuses to cooperate. Robert Mueller isn't gonna let him get away with it. And trump & comp have NEVER faced this before. They don't have a template for any of this - where there actually might be some actual consequences for their flagrant dishonesty and criminality. trump's always found a way to buy or otherwise maneuver his way out of the hot seat. Up til now. He's going to find that his air of invincibility will face to nothing. And a bunch of his little pals and cover-up crewmates and excuse-makers and smoke-blowers are gonna go down with him. Or one can hope so, at least.

It's the "by thy friends art thou known" thing.

How they see the world, how they excuse or otherwise are fine with shitty behavior or anti-social leanings and preferences, what their general mindset is, and who they gravitate toward as far as potential candidates to support or align with. If their behavior and expressed beliefs expose them as troglodytes, well, then, that's THEIR bed that THEY'VE made, and it's THEIR problem (that it's suggested here that they have no intention of doing anything about it like maybe OPENING THEIR MINDS AND CHANGING SOME OF THEIR VIEWS), and it's just too damn bad for them if that means they can't get a date.

NO sympathy for wounds that are self-inflicted, or self-perpetuated.

He sure fidgeted in his chair a lot.

That's the kind of thing a kid does when facing the principal - and a certain sentence of detention.

Another wonderful think piece, H2O Man.

I saved it for slower savoring a little later today.
